    Spent all afternoon hunting wabbits. Then gave the beast some love. Installed four more D rings & relocated the spare from the roof rack to the bed & locked it down. Much more stable & safe- I've still got way too much weight up there to mob hard but that'll help by about 60 lbs

    Got her detailed the other day after my dumbass friend threw up EVERYWHERE.
    O well barf cleans up, DUI's don't. Great night.

    Aside from a supercharger,
    I think this build is about done. Realistically, this model at this price has been about maxed out without downgrading its capabilities now- long travel would be badass
    But
    That means 15,000$+ for the front end to be completed, 7-10k for the rear, another 5-6k for the body roll cage- which would be internal, given the beauty and age of this rig and realistically render the side curtain airbags useless and would make the bed caged and useless. I'd never go LT without caging the body.
    4x4 LT also would involve screwing with the front diff, as stock, is limited to 60 mph when engaged... And regear cause why not 35" tires.
    So without major modification, this mid travel overland rig is about as good as it'll get.

    To really go wild on a taco, I'd much rather take a 5k beat up 4x4 SR5 base model without ATRAC etc, swap a turbo diesel hilux motor in, regear, lockers front & rear, LT, cage, 4 link & cantilever the rear, then tow it out to wherever, race and beat it up like an undisciplined housewife so i can tow it home in pieces and rebuild without the heartbreak.

    Any thoughts? Minus the housewife comment. Don't beat your real housewife.
    I just don't see anything positive coming from major mod builds to this thing. ???

    Haha but some house wife's like it rough! I agree. Your truck is beautiful. Unless you plan on beating it then no point to go LT. And why would you want to beat on something so nice. It's best to wait and get a old 4x4 like you said IMO.

    It's all over the owners manual etc.

    just like the locked rear diff electronic locker only works in 4 LO under 15 mph as is right now-
    I know that in real life can be modded and won't grenade under 90 mph

    And the front diff 4x4 can likely handle 100 +
    But why would they write "do not exceed 65 "
    all over the manuals?


    Eh. Just another reason im discouraged to go further with heavy mods on this baby.

    Fiberglass fenders up front to replace what I've destroyed now and it's about done. Maybe supercharge, but meh? I'd rather put that 4500 into a hilux on my beater.

    Might sell this little lady soon ;) anyone got the funds? 30k miles and documented solid quality install work haha

    I think I'm better suited for one decent taco and one beater project rig.... Hmmmmmm

    I would keep your expo. And then get your beater. If you get a decent taco then you are just going to end up forking out the cash and upgrade it. Have something nice and something beat up. You never know when those zombies are going to come haha.

    I have a 76 el comino that I'm waiting for the paper work on. Have the engine and trans already, have my taco which I'm saving money for right now. By June I have to have a few lights and bed rack with sliders and skids because I'm going up north. And I'm looking for a little honda or toyota car for a DD.
