Well the day has come when I must move on. The Taco is getting traded in this afternoon. It's been a great two years with it but I'm replacing my boat with a much bigger one and the Taco just isn't gonna cut it in the towing dept. I will say the resale of the taco is second to none. bought it two years ago, put 20k miles on it, getting $1000 less than I paid for it on trade in. I had not one issue ever with the truck. Always started, never a check engine light but was awful thirsty on the fuel front. Thanks to everyone who helped me out with questions on it from time to time. So on that note, so long tacoma and hello 2014 f-150 super crew 4x4, fx4 ecoboost with every option in oxford white/black leather with gun metal wheels. :D

I have heard that the v6 ecoboost gets a bit thirsty when towing. Still that white on the fx4 looks super clean.

    Congratulation on the new ride!

Bring us pics and tell us about the boat!

Ignore the "Benedict Arnold" comments that are sure to come & hang out.

Sorry to hear you bought such a horrid truck. Ecoboost are nothing but problems. 3 friends all had major issues within the first year.

mostly alum creek but will also be on torch lake in MI for a week and down @ cumberland for the poker run. Maybe a few trips to Erie as well. one buddy has a 33' active thunder, one has a 33' outlaw, one has a 353 fastech, ones got a 34' powerquest, few bajas in the mix. time to step my game up a bit lol. Plus, one of these boats I'm considering will be a lot safer running at any speed on the bigger water lakes as well.

I have 6 2013 f150 in our fleet. 3 with 3.5 eco boost, and 3 with 5.0L. Nothing but problems with 3.5 eco. They are being traded in o 5.0L next week. Take some advice do the 5.0L over the 3.5. Your going to have some problems trying to pull your new boat. the 3.5L doesn't pull anything very well over 3500 lb's 5.0L pulls circles around 3.5 eco boost.

There is no replacement for displacement. Oh and a timing chain rather than a belt...Never in the history of the automobile does a person go to a smaller V6 to tow a heavier object, I do not care how many turbos you put on it. Just my .02...The Ecoboost is a fine motor if you are going to limit your towing to 3500 lbs, anything over that it generates more heat than the exchangers can disipate over long distances. Love Fords and Toyota's both, worked on both for years, but I agree with the 5.0 if you are towing anything more than what your Toyota already handles.
