Yes he is, he did my after market lines. And everything else on the last 3 of my toyotas. I had my 4runner towed from Loveland to Lakewood just so he would work on it.

So somebody remembered this morning posting up a question lol real fun to go back 23 pages to find everything!

Yeah I mean if I did do this I would totally make a build thread, & it would be epic.

But. ...we need a tow pig so that has to take priority at this point. I also have my x3 to get rid of. Once the vehicles are consolidated I'm not sure what I'll get next. Defo planning on making the tow pig a Tundy if I have my way about things.

We already have a rig in the household that takes up build time/money so I can't really see doing much more to my Taco at this point. I love it & it handled winter here fine (with 180lbs Of sandbags in the back).

Travis. ...miss y'all brother! Need to get together again when you're on my end of the world. May break down and do Taco Moab after all. ;)

Depending on what you owe it may be better to sell it and get some money out of it and buy a 1st gen 4x4 and SAS it, or a well kept older 2nd gen. Tundy as a tow rig is not a bad idea. Just depends on what else you need to tow. If I'm buying a "tow" rig it will be a diesel not a gas motor.

I would love to sell my taco and buy a newer taco 4x4. The only thing is it's a waste of $ because the kind of work I do. Anything I use gets beaten up. So I would rather just build mine to the way I want it. Plus I've grown attach, now that I owned it for 13 years.

It may be cost effective for you having a 1st gen you can find a million parts for yours at salvage yards for a decently cheap build.

Yeah we have the diesel vs gas discussion monthly it seems. Right now we only have a modded '04 TJ Rubicon on 35s to tow... although possible to need to tow 2 rigs if we go ride with others. ATV in the near future too.

Yeah I hear you. But the wife gave me the go ahead to get what I want next year. Because I let her get her car she's always wanted. But I keep trying to convince her to let me start this year. She keeps telling me to be patient. It's driving me nuts.....

Yeah if you are going to be towing over long distances with weight I feel the diesel is the way to go. I have the same convo and argument in my head for when I pay the subie off. I split some days I want the Tundy and others I'm set on the dodge 2500-3500.

I just bought some Atv's if you get some we need to ride! I bought kawasakis a 750 for my self and a 650 for the wife. They are both fast, the 750 is crazy fast though.

Pay the few bucks to have someone use a real spring compressor. I know it will cost a little but it is worth it in my opinion especially with aftermarket springs like the ome. There is so much power stored inside of them that it can kill you or someone around you very easily. I had mine done at G AND S Machine shop in Littleton. They did a great job and charged me like 30 bucks. Dropped off the springs and shocks and picked them up about 2 hours later.

They really aren't that bad. I have done several and I'm far from a
Mechanic. My first ones I did with a harbor freight spring compressor that took some arm strength. But the auto zone ones have worked great with an impact on it.

Yup the tow distance is defo talked about. ..then the outweigh of diesel maintenance costs also. JT has diesel mechanic training so it wouldn't be as bad, but still a slight factor. Long distance driving right now would include KOH (cali) one a year then however many Moab trips (prob at least 4x/yr). chokecherry is only an hour away, & Rubi is still considered a DD but don't want to wear her tires down prematurely. if he ever decided to run Dirt Riot them it would be a completely different story lol

We're just going to wait a year for the diesel tundra to come out. Both problems solved :D

According to Jace that's not even on toyotas radar.

It's mixed stories. They say 2016, we've talked to some that have said no and some that said yes.

Well I would say that if it's something they are planning on selling they would have been sending their techs to school by now. Being that Toyota has a school for everything they sell and what not. You would assume the training would be offered already it they are a year out on selling.
