    What is the best way to get a gloss finish to my fender flares? Repaint them black and than clear coat??

    Your 2000 flares are made of fiberglass, just an FYI

    I'd clean them up. Then use self etching primer (good for fiberglass).

    Then use gloss spray paint and a gloss clear coat. For clear coat I'd buy the two-part automotive grade in a can. Has a hardener in it which would serve you well on the flares which take a beating from rocks being kicked up.
