nah, i'll keep the extra $800. less than 15 minutes to convert it from one to the other. that means summit during the week for some after work fun, and revo on the weekend for the race track.

Anyone use acid when they solder? Coworker says he loves soldering with it, but that you have to be careful, as it can degrade the copper.... thoughts?

 

Thats the same soldering station I have and it's awesome! All i use is solder but some use flux along with their solder.

 

I used it last night right after i got it home to toss some deans on some new LiPos. what a world of difference between this and the little Weller. Can't believe i waited this long to get a real station. I may just pick up a small can of flux, just in case i run across a stubborn terminal or something. came with a pretty fine tip too. should make circut board work easier as well. been meaning to make an new high power LED dome light for a while now

Awesome station, I use that exact one also. Soo much better then a RadioShack Weller, I also picked one of these up which helps a ton! 95% of the time I get by without flux but its good to have around.

 

wow, i need one of those! i have the generic one with gator clips and adjustable arms, but the rc speciffic one looks perfect. damn deans plugs are a PITA without a 3rd hand.

 

I agree, I made a homemade one with a 2x4 but that was well worth buying when I was doing tons on battery and ESC connections.
