I shopped at Target in November/December when they had the security breach. I used my debit card and credit card for separate purchases during that time.
I went to my bank in January and told them that I was concerned and wanted to be proactive in protecting my account and wanted a new debit card issued to me. She then went on to criticize another financial establishment because they had already issued new cards to all of their customers. That happened to be who my credit card is through and sure enough I got a new credit card in the mail like a week later and then another week later a letter telling me that the new card was on its way. The sequence of events angered me but I was happy to have a new card because that's what I wanted in the long run.
So after she was critical of another business that was taking steps to protect its clients and told me how ridiculous it all was I get a letter last week telling me that my debit card is being reissued due to the security breach at target. Way to be on top of things. I'm thinking of going back there and giving her a piece of my mind.

we sent new cards to everyone and anyone. complimentary rushed them etc if people inquired.

no. when the people who are supposed to take care of my money and my personal information can't seem to make up their minds as to what the best approach to do so is I have every right to be upset.

Its a consumers market Lisa. You have many banks at your leisure I am sure.
I for one would be doubtful of using a bank that didn't want to help me be proactive, I can't imagine the process you'd be put through if you actually had unauthorized charges.

Ya in the most states we use instant issue. OR isnt one of them heck the day after we even opened on Sunday to help customers affected. Either way, sounds like 2 of the most common banks are jumping to help. If you aren't being attended to on such a small/simple task...

Take advantage of the extra 5000 pts by adding an auth user.
The 1:1 pt to mile makes that card so legit. Also have heard success stories of people asking around renewal about getting 10k pts in exchange of paying fee ($100 worth of pts for $95 fee.) Seriously that card screams take advantage of me and I wont file a police report. Love it

Also if you are gonna have a problem hitting the 2 k spending req or 3k if applied online, look up Amazon payments. I'm sure you've already done research but hopefully I threw something worth while out.

$50 for providing a name is pretty sweet. I don't even think the auth card has to be used. It'd pretty new feature haven't seen the stipulations. I'd create an auth user and never give them a card, or even just use a nickname. Worth inquirjng about for a give me imo. Your call.

I have it. They recently added the 5k for auth user and I was bummed to miss out on it. They only req a name for the auth user so I'd just send one for the dog LOL.

meh... you could of demanded a new card but you did not.

Instead you let her talk you into what you knew was wrong. Heck you could of just called up and said you lost it.

IMO you have no one to be pissed at but yourself. Sorry. Just calling this one like i read it.
