Do they even make a trd sport sr5? I didn't think the sport came with an sr5 option.

SR5 is as close to basic as you can get.

Sport is body color upgrades and some suspension

TRD is suspension as well as interior.

TRD off road is same as trd with a better suspension and locker

Ya it just seemed like so many sub models to me. I think they just put it on the paperwork. What does prerunner mean?

Basically, the Prerunner is 2wd model with 4x4 suspension.

Prerunner is a 6 lug truck.... Basically take a 4x4 and remove the front diff, and transfer case.
The prerunner sits as high as the 4x4 and has the same suspension.

The TRD sport and the TRD off road BOTH come with the SR5 package... Iirc its actually the sr5ii package. Upgraded seats, power windows/locks, sliding rear window, fogs, rear privacy (darker) glass, and other goodies.

The TRD sport has the fake scoop, color matched mirrors, rear bumper, 17" rims, linear coils, bilstein shocks, LSD rear end, power inverter, 4leaf pack, and other stuff.

TRD off road has progressive coils, same shocks as the sport, 3 leaf pack, locking rear diff, 16" wheels with at tires, no skewp, color matched flares, black mirrors, chrome rear bumper, power inverter, upgraded seats, fogs, etc.

Not sure about the newer trucks, but the TRD off road and sports used to have the overhead readout with ambient temps and compass.

There's other parts I'm missing, but the point was that the TRD ANYTHING always included the SR5 package.

After 2008 or so, Toyota dropped the sr5 badge from the tailgate of the TRD trucks... I know my 2006 off road came with the sr5 badge.

Sorry, the leaf pack differences is after 2012 I think..... Before that I believe all Tacoma's came with the 3 leaf pack unless u had a tsb done.

Now iirc they use the 4leaf on the sports for a stiffer ride, along with a larger sway bar.

The newer off roads iirc have 3 leaf packs for supposed articulation off road I think its claimed, and a smaller sway bar.

Most guys that are going to mod either get the trd or the sr5 for the lower cost. Because most will change out springs and struts go long travel, or armor it up. Trail damage is easier to fix on non painted to match items.... You get the point. Mine is an sr5 and I have modded it to my liking.

Now if the woman would just go ahead and admit defeat I would have the wet okoles in and be done with interior minus painting my radio surround.

Bull bar = smashed front end and more damage than the original accident would have caused. IMO after seeing some people run them I will never run one.

Ya it would really be for looks I dont think I would be pushing it that hard, the thought of getting in an accident and it causing more damage definitely makes it not appealing. Happen to know a company makes the baja style front bumper? Iwould loke to run thay with a winch snd led light bar on the roof, debating on a shell for my truck bed as well.
