    Just got the numbers. ~$5200 for both axles. Hellfire knuckles, centered rear, the works. Shipping them my arb lockers and longs to have them assemble everything. Sooooooooooo parts has hit $24,000

    Haha. Some time during the fall my friend, down side is it'll be trailered there. Up side, diesel gets me farther than my taco will and cost less :p


    Not yet! But I am hoping the last things I need to pay for is installation/shocks/sexy tube stuffs from 01Tac0ma. I was prepared to spend about 2/3rds of the money I will have spent... But after a point I was far enough to not finish it. And I'm impatient. Which helped things quite a bit. Thanks!

    This isn't even the stupidest pile of... Stuff I've purchased in the last 3 months. Bought an 05 F350 as well.................. Benefits of making $45K/year at 20 and living at home I guess...


    Also, cab swap coming some time this week! Meeting with my buddy this weekend to discuss game plan.

    It sure is! Gonna come down there to get chad to outfit my truck with sliders, rear bumper, bed rack, and a surprise! I'll be there for like a week... If there's a place for me to stay that is ^_^

    not as impressive any more lol. Maybe you have individual circumstances, but at 45k a year one would have thought you would have packed up and moved out. But maybe that's just me....

    The $45K is this year starting January 2014. Last year i only made $36K. Moving out is next on the list. Having a really good family life helps too.

    Now see. This is why it cost so damn much and the reason i tell people to plan on spending 5 to 10K more than your buddy who has never built one told you it would cost. Parts are expensive and he didn't even get 1 ton stuff. :eek:

    And it was sad that 70 series just sitting there rusting away.

    Oh By the way Im Gooby, Good job man. Love to see this thing come together with those Toyota radius arms. I've always wanted to build one like that. Maybe a current version Hilux but then the three link systems drive so well and flex like you wouldn't believe.

    Small kinda not even an update, Rear axle is complete, Front axle should be done this week. Hellfire knuckles are 4 months out, looks like we'll be doing steering set up twice... yaaaay... naat

    Removed the 2.5" blocks a month ago, she has about 3/4" rake now, just how I like her

    Also, went wheeling may long and here's a slight few pictures

    My new to me tow rig I bought in January champed it out on this trip. Good thing I put 35" Goodyear Fierce attitudes on it... more on that later.

    Buddy went in to get him un stuck from the front. But they didn't connect the vacuum tube for the front diff when they had it apart the day before. Chalk one up for the yota!

    Then got the teal xj un stuck, that's 2!

    After that, buddy with 2" lift and 33's gave er a go. He made it last year, but it was chewed up when he went out this year. Tried winching himself forward, killed his battery. That's ok, nothing 120' of tow strap and 85' of winch line cant fix! 3-0 for the yota!

    Then we stopped for lunch. Another group of family members ended up at the shack and one guy walked up and goes "Who's yota is that?! Its by far the nicest thing here!" Sorta made my day, no big.

    Shortly after lunch, disaster struck :(

    My rack and pinion has been fubard for about 7 months now, ever since I broke that front axle, which I replaced when we removed those lift blocks. Ever so slowly crawling forward through the hole, the inner tie rod went boom.

    Even with the tie rod gone, the truck drove forward with someone kicking the tire straight. Never had a strap pulling the taco out of anything.

    At this point, my buddy drove the taco towards the main trail as my other buddy drove me to the ford/trailer. The 350 made it to the truck through about 8 mud holes, and back with the taco on the trailer. If i hadn't done tires on it, it would've been a bad time!

    Swapping the rack and pinion this week, and body swap this week. Thanks Andrew!

    Hopefully start on the diff swaps in about a month or so. Still needing coilovers, bump stops, steering box(prolly gonna be a tapped jeep box with hydro assist) and a rear sump oil pan.

    I hate mud.
