I'm hoping to go out and shoot mine next weekend. If the weather is good, I'll take my Mosin, Mauser, and shotgun out. Haven't fired any of them yet.

I like the added feature of having a safety now with the timney.

Off topic a bit but have a tactical stock and pump coming for the remington 870 & the +4 mag extension, barrel clamp & new slider are already here. Woohoo, gonna be a 9 shot 12 ga with 5 clipped to the side when done. A shorter barrel with some chokability might finish off the mods on this one.

I might end up investing in an Archangel stock. I bought a Timney trigger for my Mosin and don't want to cut up the stock it came with. Thinking of either a Monte Carlo stock or the Archangel.

My vote is the archangel one...............I know it is already cutout for the timney to fit perfect. Can't remember if the monte carlo was cut out for it. Didn't have the timney when I had the ati stock for a minute. The adjustable cheek rest and adjustable butt are very nice to have.

Cost aside, that's my vote also. My issue is, I bought a $150 rifle, put an $80 trigger into it and I'm not sold on buying a $200 stock for it on top of it  I'll get there, just not there yet. I'm also looking at Boyd's stocks also. I really like the wood stocks.

I don't believe the Monte Carlo is cut for the Timney. As far as I've found, only the Archangel comes ready for the Timney trigger's safety.

Look at it this way.....how much would another rifle all cooled up like what the mosin will be with the archangel that is as simple and reliable and accurate cost you? Guarantee more than you're talking about fixing up the Mosin. Got my archangel off ebay for 189 shipped and it came with the 5 AND 10 shot magazines.

I know and completely agree. I actually really enjoy shooting the Mosin also so it'll get used. That's one of the great things about the old gun, it'll never be a safe queen. I do really like the Boyd stock to keep that wood stock although you lose some features there over the Archangel. Decisions, decisions... It's a good problem to have :)

Yeah, I figured as much. It's just the trimming for the Timney though, right? It's already made to accept a stock Mosin, right? I figured I'll have the fitting issues with anything except the Archangel. Right now, I really like the Boyds stock. I do have a Dremel but it randomly quit on me, I'll get another before I attempt this but thanks for the heads up.

I ordered the Monte Carlo off Amazon for 50 and there is little trimming involve to get it in. I like the Monte Carlo I used my gun a lot and I don't care what's happens to it. I want to get another mosin and put a boyd stock to make a nice show piece
