I've an OME 2"' lift with 884's, Sport struts and shocks, and a 1.5" AAL in the rear. I want to upgrade to a progressive 3 leaf AAL so I have have more load carrying capacity, without jacking up the back end with a full Dakar leaf pack. Does anyone have an opinion as what the best 3 leaf progressive 1.5" AAL is? The choices are Wheeler's, Toytec or Icon. They all cost the same and claim to be the best. Is there any real difference?

If I recall, Icon's are made by Alcan and Wheelers' are made by Deaver. I haven't heard much about Toytec's but chances are it's the same as either Icon's or Wheelers'. For towing, I'd go with the Wheelers HD version. I had the Icon version and it dealt with loads well but was not specifically designed with load carrying in mind. I haven't heard anything bad about either Icon or Wheelers and don't think you can go wrong with either one so might as well get the one built a bit heavier.

I guess I should add that I don't tow, but frequently have the truck loaded down with 700+ pounds of bros, bikes, guns and gear.

I have the wheelers HD, it handles my ~550lb load (bikes, gear, gas etc,) plus driver and passenger no problem.
