    More for the annex than anything. Been camping a few times and thought to myself...It would be awesome if I had a room. It's a bit bigger. Plan to camp with my kids in the future and it would fit all of us comfortably.

    Having the added space in the annex would be nice then - you're basically doubling the size of your sleeping space with it.
    Or you could always just get a ground tent for the kids and let them set up their own camp next door. I used to do that a lot as a kid - thought it was so cool to have my own space (even if it was only 10 yards from my folk's RV :eek: )

    Might want to wait a few years before setting them out on their own then :laugh:

    But if you get the tent and annex you'll have to deal with a constant fight of who sleeps where - like who gets top bunk and who gets bottom bunk.

    So the cvt I was about to buy was not the shasta but the bachelor. Not going to switch my Tepui ayer for it. I wanted the shasta because of the annex.

    On the tepui website there is no annex for the ayer. Called them and they actually have one available for the ayer model but they don't show it on the website. Bernard from tepui is talking to his Web guy to get that fixed.

    I ordered the annex. I will post pictures as soon as I get it!

    anyone ever have an issue with the size of the Shasta for two people? Thinking about getting on the the CVT gb for the rainier, but Shasta is a bit cheaper. buy once cry once? anyone ever make their own racks?

    the bachelor/shasta models are about the same width as a full size mattress and still roomier than a 2-man ground tent. the hood/rainier are the same width as a cal. king mattress.

    I think the "+" is for a child sleeping crosswise, not length wise in the tent. ain't no way you could get more than 2 adults in a bachelor/shasta unless you're counting the annex

    I slept 3 adults just fine with the same size tent. 2 guys and a girl. Both guys around 190 - 200 lbs and the female around 130 probably.
