Doesn't matter just want to see if anyone works in that line of work. See if there out of work or not. There has been 1000's of cuts where i am.

I worked in that field, both Underground, and site development. I have been out of work for 8 months now.

You don't work for Procon do you? They do alot of tunneling out west.

It sucks the wages and bonus was just starting to get good every where. You could work anywhere you wanted to. Now just where i am they closed down 10 mines here only 2 are running now. I want things to pick up soon, i am starting to get fat for not working for almost 8 months.

Thompson has been a doing really well up until this year actually. They are making lots of cuts and my gf's dad as well as many others have been "bought out", basically they are paying them even tho they arent working till a certain date then they are out of money and a job. It sucks for her dad because he was a head IT person and now he is going to have to go back to school to get the education to get back in the field.

Even Alberta is hurting right now big time. I seen it coming years ago but its finally here, all of these young guys who moved out there and bought really expensive houses and cars now have no jobs to pay for them.
