I have the same issue really. I found a VIN on-line that Entune is happy with, so it set up an account for me. The first bunch of VINs I tried didn't work with Entune. The app won't connect to the radio to update the firmware and doesn't show as connected in the App. The connect button in setup is greyed out.

Exact same problem. I sourced em from autotrader. Was able to register and set up an account. But cannot physically connect my iPhone 4 to the radio via Bluetooth or USB cable. I even tried with my gf's iPhone 5 with no luck.

Perhaps FLTrucks has an idea about good VIN numbers. Something is not right with Entune.

^^ It's weird that you guys are having problems connecting Entune via BT. Mine works perfectly fine. I set my iPhone 5 on BT, open the Entune App and it automatically connects to the HU.

Have you guys paired your phone with the HU?

I did read somewhere that Canada didn't allow the use of Entune. Not sure if true or not.

Do you connect the phone via BT to the radio before opening Entunes? I tired on my Verizon 4 iPhone and my GF's Verizon 5 iPhone with no luck.

The button on the phone to connect is always greyed out.

Its weird, you hit the APP button and it brings up the Entune message, but never brings up the apps.

Set my phone to BT, open the Entune App on the iPhone(I do this before getting in my truck) and it automatically connects it to HU when I turn on the truck. If the Entune App on your phone is paired successfully then the screen should be gray with a red bar that say DISCONNECT.

You guys sure you paired the HU to your phone? That's why I asked, because without pairing it together then of course the HU won't connect to anything.

Which button on the phone you talkin about? There's no button for me. Like I said ones successfully paired with the HU, screen is gray with a red bar that say DISCONNECT.

It almost looks like entune is smart enough to know that I am on a Non-US account with my cell provider. I just want the firmware updates.

The grey bar where you have "disconnect" in red is already disconnected for me. The phone is connected to BT, I can use the HU to phone, to stream music from my 5S, but not connect the HU to the internet to update the firmware.

Perhaps some year Toyota will expand Entune to Canada.

Not sure if this may be part of your issue, but for whatever reason my Entune won't work with the internet if I have anything plugged into the USB port of the truck. As soon as I unplug the USB cable, all of the Entune apps work fine.

I'm curious if this is the same issue you are experiencing. The rest of the BT functions always work with the phone, just none of the Entune apps while something is in the USB jack of the truck.

    Thats how I've been trying.

I used the hands free calling / spotify / text messaging through the radio just fine, so it connects to via BT no problem.

I get this message on my radio -

and this on my phone -

Just thought I would post up here and let everyone know that FLTrucks is still on the case and not to give up on him. I was contacted today about my order, and as of now I am awaiting delivery :D

Now, I must admit that I am scared to death of this thing not working in my 2012, with XM and all...... any tips or links you guys could provide would be great. Also.... where can I pick up that 20/28 pin harness that im gonna need?

I did did the swap to a non-entune in my 2012 and it was pretty easy. The harness was the cheapest on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DF7C4O0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but appears that they might be out. Also, you will need the antenna adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VYTGUC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

The USB port (if you have one now) won't work out of the box as well. That requires two cables (at the minimum, I am still working on that part now. I also don't see my Sirius/XM tuner with this radio, but I wasn't worried about that.

been there. tried that. no luck

see my signature for part numbers and prices and such.

my 20-28 pin harness came from Camelback as it was the cheapest. Same with the BT mic.

The USB adapter came from Ebay as it was 4x cheaper than the OEM one

Thanks for the info guys! Been sitting here looking into the XM problem and found this pic on ebay
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-12-Toyot...r-SAT-Amplifier-86180-0W031-OEM-/261301294506

This has got me wondering if my XM tuner will unscrew and from my current unit and screw into the new Nav unit. Can anyone confirm mine will come a part like shown in this pic? There is NO WAY that swap would be THAT simple. But im hoping for just that though. My main goal is to have everyting working just like factory OEM, and XM is really that important to me so Im tackling it first. I hardly ever use my USB/Aux input but im still gonna try to get it working too.

I believe FLtrucks can source the XM units. I purchased mine from another user and it came with the XM unit and harnesses. I can access the XM stuff on my radio, but do not have a subscription so I cant do anything with it

86180-0E011 is the unit part number -

    http://partsfactory.camelbacktoyota.com/oe-toyota/861800e011

86842-0E101 is the harness part number
