In the local classifieds, someone is needing a home for a 7 yr old beagle.
I have wanted a dog but decided against it because I wasnt sure of my plans for the next couple of years.
I have since decided to go to firefighting school and stay in this city for quite some time.

I wanted a bigger dog at first, mostly because I always had them as a kid, but I really like beagle's and can't afford to buy one at time being.

it would be nice to not have a crazy puppy too, so being 7 yrs old might be good.

    what do you guys think?

Well hopefully you wouldn't have to deal with house training and the other big responsibilities of having a puppy. If you have the time, go for it!

its always nice to get an older dog, so what if it wasnt a puppy at least you'll know that he gets to spend the rest of his life with your family

I do have the time, I work a normal job at a grocery store right now, and live with 2 room mates, one being my gf who is willing to help.

I agree, and I also think helping someone who needs to get rid of their dog is good too

be careful, my friends beagle got very aggressive as it got older and they ended up having to find a new home for it. Hpefully its not the same situation, but just warning yu it could be!

I got a 2 year old beagle. Just get ready for the loud hound dog bark and howling. But they are very smart and very independent dogs. I say go for it.

No not at all man. They are louder like a basset hound or a blood hound.

I don't know much about beagles but it seems like a good deal, go meet the pupper and see how it behaves.
