I don't see a good spot for a drain either. The factory one is just inside the engine bay where the intake tube is larger in diameter.

I cannot believe this is normal wear & tear.
No I don't drive on the beach, no pure gravel roads but eh dirt roads have gravel...? But with this weird pattern & no dents or nicks.... It's stripped down to rough bare aluminum and steel that's rusted.

It had to have been something caustic... But what?! Agh it's killin me. Not that it matters damage is done and without replacing stuff it can't be fixed. But how could it have hit those spots and not covered the whole underside or wheel wells? ....the mystery may never be solved..

You don't end up with a flood of water on your passenger floor every time it rains or you go through a carwash right? Same concept. The cover over the cowl protects anything from dropping straight on top of the openings, so water would have to pool up in the bottom high enough to get into the intake, and I don't see that happening. Plus the factory intake has a couple drain holes in the bottom of it down where the filter is that will hopefully catch any water should it make it that far.

Ultimately this was a much better option than where the factory intake is. I had mud all the way up to the filter just from a few light wheeling trips in the mud and a snorkel is just far too expensive for me at the moment. I did all this for about $40.

Got defeated by the sway bar. So left it on. Then finished prepping the devil horns and removed the back bumper and All the plastics..... what do you suggest for putting in the slots for the plastics so when it gets powder coated they will still fit.

Your truck looks silver in your photos.

Also very jelly of your lunch scenery. I was stuck in an office all day doing tax returns.
