I want to build my little truck up to where it would be cool showing it at the car show

 

My buddy's 4runner is getting pretty sick. He is throwing a turbo in it. 2.7 turbo

 

Would it be worth putting a turbo on the 2.4? Mine sounds like its going to explode revved above 3k.. would love to supercharge it but damn that stuffs expensive

 

The answer to boost is always yes...

 

Hahah yeah just seems like I would rev to where the turbo would spool up and then have to shift immediately

Doesn't the four banger have like a 5k redline?

 

5.5k but it sounds like it will explode or something over 3.5 so ive never revved it near that high

 

Sigh... Man up and drive it lol. I redline my 4.0 every day

I had somebody in the truck w/ me one time and I revved it to around 4 and they asked if it was supposed to sound like that haha

 

I've had my truck bouncing off the limiter once. On the highway. Doing well over the 110 my speedometer says is the absolute max speed of my truck. It was funnnnnn

 

If it sounds like it's going to explode, i wouldn't waste money as it is boosting your I-4. Why does it sound like that anyway? Is everything rattling?

 

So who all is going to the Lucas oil races today?

 

7.5 is it? I figured they would go higher. My Type R was 9.1k redline and my wife's civic is 8k redline.

 

Nothing rattling, just sounds like its too high for it to be revved. Maybe my tach is of, who knows either way I wouldn't have the money to boost it for a long time. By then it and my transmission will probably need a rebuild.

 

You seem to not have much faith in your little taco!

Most of these things will run forever. Why do you think your transmission is going to go?

 

I absolutely love my truck! But the transmission grinds fairly often especially reverse and sometomes wont let me put it into gear at all after ive been stopped getting ready to go, it probably just syncros and ive got some oil getting through the seals and stuff in the engine, so its just showing its age.

My little 5 lug has gotten me into some crazy places some people think a 2wd shouldnt go so I absolutely have faith in it I'm just scared of anything failing
