Well, the flooring is bought and here, about 400 sqft after discluding the bathroom and mudroom, still doing the kitchen. Today I begin tearing out the carpet and padding. I'll take some pictures of stuff to show off what I'll be doing. I still need to go buy trim for the whole upstairs, T molding for the doorways, and a stair nose.

Don't forget to fix all the floor squeaks. My husband absolutely hates it when the floor squeaks under your feet. Just last year, we replaced the carpet in the entire house. We spent 2 weeks removing the old carpet and putting screws in the floor to keep the plywood down (and prevent squeaks).

I actually made a mental note of a few squeaks way before starting the project, and marked them on the subfloor after taking the carpet up. I managed to get all the carpet, staples, and tack strips up today. So tomorrow I will be tearing up the floor in the kitchen, should take about 10 mins, and sinking some screws into the squeaky parts of the floor.

I took some pictures of the room in general, but I'm gonna take a good pic of my fireplace, because I need some input on that. I'll explain that with the picture later, it's too dark to take one now.
