Tyler, could you foresee any problems with Line-X-ing one of your H/C bumpers (especially with swingout?) Is there any parts that do not have enough leeway so that if Line-X added +/- 1/8'' of thickness to any place, it would cause problems?

My front bumper is line-x'ed and wanted to do the same to the rear when I get it. Do not have any issues with the front mounting and looks good

My DO front is Line-X'ed as well, but I was a little more concerned with the rear (swingout primarily) because there are more moving parts, etc. I'm not an expert on the swingout/spindle part so I didn't know if that part could be Line-X'ed or how it should be "taped off" if the rest is ok to Line-X.

The latch mechanism would probably need to be masked to allow it to function properly. The spindle and hub would have to be masked of course as well, just as with paint or powdercoat. The license plates lights would also be a bit of a tight fit but you could trim the line-x as needed. The frame mount plates are a snug fit so they may need a little belt sander love if the line-x builds up too much as well.
I wouldn't hesitate to line-x it, might create a little extra work but the line-x is a great way to go.

Tyler does your swing out on the rear bumper cover up the OEM hole for the spare tire? Trying to figure out how to relocate the stock camera and want to know if that place will work.

If you could take a picture looking in line with that hole that would be great.

I can't get the hole to show up in pictures. The bumper doesn't cover it but the gate does partially. Best bet is a license frame mount

Can you just post a picture as best you can of the space between the gate and the bumper in that area?

Still trying to decide if I am going to powder coat or do it myself. I suppose if I do it mysel I would need about three or for cans of self etching primer and then 3 or 4 cans of paint. Sound about right?

Would I have to prep the bumper?

I just did my front bumper with 3 cans of self etch primer, and 4 1/2 cans of Rustoleum Bed liner. 2-3 coats each. All in one afternoon. Wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be!

I have my sliders Line-X'd while they are holding up great, the DIY method was MUCH less expensive, and I have the abilitiy to easily touch up the paint. (My original goal for the truck was a BAMF mall crawler, but times have changed, I vote no on the Line-X or Powdercoat....)

My DO front bumper is Line-X'ed and I like it but I'm going to rattlecan the rear H/C I'm getting. Much easier to touch up and there will be no headache of trying to get holes lined up or masking off stuff for Line-X.

Do you have any lights on your license plate?
Just rattle can it if you plan on hitting trails, imo.

Just got off the phone with the local powder coating company and it would be around a two week wait once I recieve the bumper. There is not freakin way I am waiting two more weeks after I get it.

Be picking up the primer and paint this weekend.

Now I might have to go and take a look at some winches this weekend :)
