APG (Armbrust Pro Gym) is where I train at...anyone who has been there, knows it's the one of the best gyms there is...not to mention it's Phil Heaths home gym and it's common to see him training there...amongst any pro, really.
Anywho- I saw Johnnie Jackson there a few weeks ago and was wondering what he was up to...here's what he was doing

Smashed my hand real good at work on Friday :( . I know it doesn't look like much... But I can hardly move my hand without it stretching the cut and causing pain... First thing that came to mind was no gym for at least a week :pout:

Just got done meal prepping for the week. 13 days into the cut and am down 6 lbs. No noticeable change in body comp yet, which is to be expected. Now that I know the ol' finacee would rather me be a little smaller and more ripped (180 lbs and 8-9% bf) than bigger with with some fat (205 lbs and 12-14% bf) is the only thing keeping me going lol. It'll be worth it. Still at around 12-13% bf...the road to sub-10% is gonna be a long one.

Anyway, how many servings of fresh vegetables do y'all eat a day? In my cutting diet, I eat stuff like kidney beans and potatoes, but the only fresh vegetables I get are 2 salads, each with spinach, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, and green olives. I'm not a big fan of tracking micronutrients, but I'm pretty sure 2 big ass salads, along with my potatoes and kidney beans are enough...plus, my multivitamin.

Every cut I've ever followed completely through with (it's been a few years), I use IIFYM. I also use IIFYM for bulking. I don't just eat pizza and shit, but I do allow 1-2 bad foods per day, to stay sane. My cutting diet is just my bulking diet, toned back to meet my macros and deleting all the bad sugary and salty stuff

    Here's my bulking diet:

    1. 6 egg whites, 2 nutrigrain bars, apple
    2. tuna sand w/ mayo, baked lays, salad
    3. wheat pasta w/ ground beef, 1 slice wheat bread, kidney beans
    4. 2 scoops ON, 2 cups shredded wheat cereal (no milk), 1 tbsp. peanut butter
    5. chicken breast, potatoes, cheese stick
    6. hamburger helper, banana, 12 oz. coke

    Here's my cutting diet:

1: 6 egg whites, apple, fiber bar
2: tuna sand w/ mayo, baked lays, salad
    3. wheat pasta w/ ground 93/7 turkey, 1 slice ezekiel bread, kidney beans
    4. 2 scoops ON, 1 tbsp. peanut butter
    5. chicken breast, potato, salad, cheese stick
    6. 1 scoop ON, 1 tbsp olive oil (homemade casien thanks to Sean)

As you can see, for my cutting diet, I just replace the 2 nutrigrain bars with 1 fiber bar, change the ground beef in my pasta to 93/7 ground turkey and change the wheat bread to ezekiel bread, take out the shredded wheat cereal, and completely remove my last meal of hamburger helper, banana, and 12 oz. coke.

    Here's my macros:

    bulking: calories: 3228, protein: 200, carbs: 450, fat: 52
    cutting: calories: 2424, protein: 213, carbs: 260, fat: 63

I like IIFYM because it keeps me sane. As long as you hit your macros, you can eat what you want. I don't take it to the extreme, but I do sneak in 1-2 junk foods in so I'm not tempted to cheat. Also on my cuts, I completely cut out beer and only drink 1 night a week (usually whisky and water or Coke Zero). I've tried keto and it worked amazingly, but I wanted to put a bullet through my head because I was always tired and my workouts suffered. I've also tried intermittent fasting with IIFYM and liked it a lot, but cannot do it with my current schedule with college and my job.

    Sorry, I'm bored lol

Tape it up and try to go after it. I sliced my palm pretty bad once and just put like an inch of gauze around it and duct taped it and it was enough cushion to let me keep lifting. If you still can't, destroy them legs and abs.

I tried mixing it when I did keto, but it just floats on the top and ruins the taste of the shake, so I just started downing it like medicine in a tablespoon; much easier and doesn't ruin your shake

Haha yeah, I try to stick to beer if I am drinking. If I do liquor I sip it and that really helps out. All these college kids just slam shots though. Getting to old for that shit .

As far as hangovers go I have prescribed Ritalin so normally after taking a morning dose I will be functional and I just force at least half a gallon of water in me. Then a ton of food. When I take an afternoon dose I feel 20x better but I still feel super weak strength wise.

Beer makes me pee way too much, so I get really hungover. Whiskey and water hydrates me while I drink! I remember in my freshman/sophomore days when I could drink until like 4 am and be productive the next day. Now, if I drink more than 5-6 and don't get to bed by 11 pm, I feel like crap lol.
