I don't want to spend the money on new speakers right now. Mine works well enough how it is.

 

I need a head unit and amp then I can hook up my subs

 

I want a new head unit, but since I want the large screen with gps and B/U cam ready it won't be cheap

 

Hook the speakers to an amp and they'll sound even better than running them off of a head unit, do it properly with mid range and highs seperate and a subwoofer for lows and it will sound even better.

PO put a HU in (Sony xplod) but I'll be replacing it eventually.

I want to get a sub, amp, and speakers before the big road trip.

 

Just a warning to everybody me and my wife got a call from this number today saying our debit card has been suspended and to press 1 to get it unsuspended. Just hang up the phone it's a new scam I called my bank which is USAA and they said that was the best thing I could do. So if y'all get a call from a number that only says 1000 either reject it or answer and hang up and call ur bank to let them know

Get a pioneer double din. I used to be an alpine guy but pioneer has an 8 band EQ built in on the double din receivers. I bought an x3500-bhs for my 2014 but I'm unsure if I'm going to put it in or not because of the discrepancy between 13 and 14 and the backup camera harness. So I'll prob put it in my honda since I drive it a lot more.

 

I don't think i'm gonna be going with a double DIN, i'd like something with color options, and USB front and rear.

Should have... Saw a guy the other day wearing acus with nikes on and all multi cam name tapes with his "medals" pinned to the collar and a 82nd patch. I stopped him and asked him wtf he thought he was doing

 

Most of the pioneers double din have color options, you can change the background/button light color. All the newer ones have rear USB and aux for a cleaner look. And you can get nice ones pretty cheap now.

Rarely is there a front AND rear USB. It's usually one or the other, only the more expensive a ones have both and those are usually double din. Also since you're going to rub a subwoofer, make sure it has a sub pre-out, a regular pre-out won't give you proper control of the speaker or dB level and high pass filter will also cut low frequencies to the sub same way as I describe below.

Make sure you use the high pass filter at 80-100hz to stop lower frequencies from coming from midrange speakers so you don't blow them. (Won't affect sub when rca's properly connected to sub preout.)
