nother suspension problem..

    Yea that's what I was thinking.. That's why I mounted my tire more on the other side.. I'm not so concerned about the looks but I'm concerned with when I put the shock on even when the shock is fully extended it's not long enough to reach the shock mounts(passenger side only cause of gas tank n such). The driver side has like an inch of compression.. So the only thing to do is put more weight on that side/the back?.. Good thing I just ordered a cbi bumper..

    Should I just get longer shocks or somethin? Cause it seems like id have to put a lot of weight to match all of that.. Or get it even close. Plus I feel like they are limiting my flex.. The leafs can expand more than the shocks.

    What model of Bilsteins did you get for the rear? Maybe they are too short to allow for the 3" of lift. If they are too short, then you'll eventually destroy the shocks or the mounts, when the suspension bottoms out while offroading.

    The kit comes with 5100's as the only option.

    For some reason and this is why I wish I woulda measured but I feel like the dakars were more like 4"-5" of lift...?

    well after a whole bunch of reading last night i came to the conclusion that the 5100's are just too short for dakar leafs.. i was looking up ICON remote resi shocks when i stumbled upon someone with the exact same problem as me (he just knew how to describe it a little better than i did.) but it seemed like a pretty common problem. if you have 2.5" + of lift i wouldn't use the 5100's. Honestly I'm kind of disappointed in toytec for making the 5100's the only option to choose even if I'm getting the dakar leafs.. i mean i still will order from them and stuff but i won't trust their "full lift kits" anymore.. Ordering every piece individually will help make me understand what I'm getting and why. i was thinking about getting the 5150 billys but decided on the remote resi icon 2.0's. also figured out my carrier bearing is toast.

    If they would have at least made it an option to choose different rear shocks it would be a little more understandable..

    Do some more research. Performance shocks, like Bilstein 5100's, come in many different lengths (for different lifts). You need to determine what length you need, and order the correct part number. Check out this page of the Bilstein website:

    I've had a bad enough experience already and i don't want to use billys anymore.. toytec should have provided proper length 5100's considering they don't let you choose different lengths when you are ordering. thanks for all the help though.
