Great shots on this last page. I need to upload a few I got this weekend of some birds in the back yard. Got my fountain working and seed in the feeder and they came.

First, the good: well composed, nice angles and poses. Great timing to get the orange tones and the blue sky.

Now for the constructive criticism: I agree with Blackdawg in that the saturation (and contrast) is a bit overdone. There really isn't a standard since determining "what's right" is subjective. I follow a number of landscape photographers on Flickr and try to gauge my processing by what the really good photographers are doing. My gauging changes over time. I'll sometimes go back through my photos on Flickr to identify ones that need more tweaking or need to be ratcheted back in how much processing I did.

LR is greatness. Did you shoot the photos in RAW (CR2)?

yeah I shot in RAW, a friend of mine told me that you can do alot more with them, so the first thing i did was switch my camera to RAW.

    - And yeah i am still trying to grow a good eye for seeing what looks good. ill tweak them around some more. thanks for the constructive criticism... was afraid of jerks blowing me up haha so thanks for the professionalism guys!

You are definitely on the right track with making adjustments to landscape photos, and I think you were making the right type of adjustments. It's sort of like adjusting the volume knob...I suggest going back to half, maybe 1/3 of what you set the volume to.

No idea. Never noticed them around here. Only hung around for about 30 seconds. I was waiting for a robin and blue jay that were hanging around.

I really like this shot. To make him stand out more, I'd add a darken vignette to the corners.

I think your pics look great. I actually dig the over processed look with that landscape.

I really like the swing shot. The clouds were the perfect background and contrast the mood against the fun the people are having.

Your rodeo shot is superb. Rodeos are awesome to shoot because of all of the powerful elements occurring during the action: facial expressions, dirt flying, animal and human body movement, and if lucky...a clown nearby.
