I hope this shows up....Anyway, I came across this stuff and it's cheap and looks pretty good and lasts a long time. If I don't like it, I can just peel it right off. Figured I'd give it a try. I don't know if I'll do my wheels but I'd like to do the hood of my truck and the bumpers, grill & exhaust tip!

    ah ok, understandable
plastic dip on the exhaust tip will probably melt...youre going to need to use some high temp paint on there for it to last

Plasti dip doesn't last long on rims either if you take it on trails. Mine are plasti dip. I love the look but it is starting to come off

It says it's rated to 312 degrees. The guy (possibly owner) who's videos I've been watching said that he did his Audi V6 supercharge said he has had it on his tip for a year with no problems....Not sure if my exhaust gets that hot or hotter but I think it will be ok?? :)

I mainly keep my truck on the streets unless I'm at the desert with my dirt bike, but love taking it in the mud. It's only a 4x2 unfortunately so not a lot of crazy stuff for me, but I still try! I changed my mind on the rims.

Sorry Richard if you are referring to me. I am a newbie on here and my post ended up in this forum by accident.

Another problem with plasi-dip is it gets dirty and if very difficult to clean without accidently removing the plasi-dip itself. You would have better luck just priming and painting your rims.

Haha not you. We are talking about the truckers on the CB. If you have a CB listen in on a open channel and listen to what they say.

Hmm....conflicting information. There is a forum on here for this stuff and it said it can hold up to car washes...I'd prob end up washing it on my own if I do it though. Oh, I decided to not to do my rims.

Oh good. I feel bad because people keep responding to my original post and it's blowing up this forum when it's not even related.

No, I don't own a CB but I've used them years ago....it is pretty comical!

I really do appreciate the advice! How long have you had it and when did it start to peel off?

That's not too bad. Are you going to apply more over it? Says you can. I'm trying to find out if I can put it over the black plastic on my rear bumper. I'd really like to do my hood!
