OME 885 Question

Im just curious here but if I am only looking for like 1.75 inches of lift could i simply just switch out the stock springs? I already know about bilsteins so dont worry. Im just curious here. I have no clue by any means. Im sold on the bilsteins, which is all I have the coin for right now, but theoretically could you just switch the springs?

Yes you can just switch the springs. Eibachs will give you about 1.6" with their springs 885 will give you close to 2.6-3" or just the billies and set them where you want too at .85 1.75 or 2.5

 

Is that even on just stock shocks? Im just trying to think of the smartest option for me to go since both bilsteins and the springs from wheelers are all around the same price. And if it was the stock shocks, would it do any damage to them having a larger spring with a larger rate on them? And do you think it would change the geometry of the lower suspension? Like Im thinking with a spring wont the preload just push the truck up therefore, not changing the lower suspension? Thanks! Im just trying to wrap my head around this.

 

It's best to replace the shock. The 5100 is a slightly longer shock than factory, and it's designed specifically for lifting.

 

I went with 884's and 5100's (at lowest setting) and got about a 2" lift.

 

As stated above people have done the springs with stock but isnt recommended. Just do the bilsteins and be done and set them at 1.75"

 

I did 5100 at 0 with 885. not sure how much lift I actually got but its damn stiff compaired to stock, Wished I went with the 884 and .85. or the eibach springs at .85
