Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
SD almost had me fooled! I'm digging the sharps. Wanted to have a .45-70 when I was 15. Almost bought a single shot...glad I didn't. I wasn't thinking about recoil at the time. The circle of life has me looking at .458 socom recently though. Still chasing a big thumper.

I'll tell you what though, that 45-70 has some serious punch to it

And for the mp5, I've always wanted one but can't afford a real one (like $9k) so I got the next best thing. Licensed and made by h&k and walther in 22lr. Super fun little plinker

It was just an example of the knockdown power of the 45-70. The only real hunt videos I could find were like 20 mins long.

Nice! What kind of range can you get out of 22-250? Also, is that your VTR?

Yeah vtr is my hunting gun... Some will argue but being an avid reloader and gun enthusiast... I call a 22-250 an accurate 300-400 yard gun that is capable of 600 yard kills if loaded right. IMO...

Very cool! Hows the accuracy on the VTR? My buddy has the shorter barrel w/o break version and he struggles with it sometimes. It seems to be real picky with its ammo. Wondering if it's better with the break.

They are very picky in my experience... They have a 1:14 twist which is very slow for that fast of a gun... I have tries over 30 loads and stick with 55gr. Nosler ballistic tip varmints, 36gr. IMR 4320, in nosler brass... All you can do is play with loads...

I should've mentioned that his was .308, not sure what the twist rate is on that. Similar experience, but hard to say with them being different calibers. My SPS Varmint drives nails with anything, but that thing is way to heavy to be lugging through the woods lol.

Heard that! My custom only shoots from a bench way to heavy for anything else!

Buddy's dad bought a 45-70 revolver. He shot it once and sold it. I kind of wanted to shoot it but I chose not to. Now I wish I did.
