What part? There's more to the bay than just SF, Oakland, and the like; all the cities that everyone has heard of and knows about.

 

The part i saw from 10 minutes before we landed until we landed in san fran, dunno what part that was, except it was the south-east side.

 

Once you take away the office space, and 2 guests rooms its actually not that big

EDIT: don't get me wrong, big, luxurious houses are really nice but you have to pay to heat/cool it, light the damn place, furnish it, and keep it up. That's a lot of money. I understand there's people that can afford to do it, but if I were them I'd buy a smaller place on a few acres that's just as nice and save more of my earned money.

exactly! you can get 3000 sq ft here for 200k as well. just depends on the neighborhood. I have 1400 sq ft for 178k, but at least I have another 5000 sq ft in yard

1 room as a bedroom for me, 1 room as a trophy room, 1 room as a gun room, 1 guest room, and a office, plus a room or 2 if you plan on getting married and having kids in that house.

 

Without the office and 2 guest rooms...

 

I agree. I only need a bedroom, living room, kitchen and office..

 

I need an office (I have my own business that I work from home now) and yeah I'm just saying that house is in my "expected" price range

I myself am a minimalist and a huge fan of modern home architecture. I don't like cozy so much as I like uncluttered and usable. I like minimalist because it's very practical; everything you need, and nothing you don't.

 

if you plan on getting married and having kids someday, and you can afford the house to fit them all now, might as well get it now. The value will only go up, and it's much better than moving later. Also by the time your kids are in college you could outright own the house.
