I have a set of that are are about 6 years old. I always liked them but I just busted the driver side, cracked 2 leafs (and broke the shock)... kaput.

So I am tempted to get these again, but the breakage has me wondering... are a second choice... but more $$!! I just want something sturdy and fairly priced. My normal center-rear load is about 300lbs and about 600llbs when geared up. I cannot go more than 2" in the back with the springs because I have extended shackles giving about 1".

Unless the Alcans are just the shit, I'll probably end up sticking with the Wheelers, but I wanted to get some feedback if anymore knows these springs well.

With that kind of weight & from what i see in pic (you obviously hit hard, very hard) Ditch the extended shackle & add more leaf

You're running 4 leafs & an overload, if memory serves me the wheelers are either a slight lift or about stock, is this correct ?

Well it looks like your original leaf pack is busted on top of the wheelers AAL. I would just buy a whole new leaf pack. Allpro makes great leafs (I run them) and so does OME, Deaver, ect.

That picture is not an add a leaf, it's the Wheelers 5 pack leaf spring that provides 1.5".

I like the 'ditch the shackle' comment though and now I'm looking at the Dakars Wheelers sells. Close to 3" of lift by themselves and I then can go back to stock shackles.

The Dakars I looked at may or may not be the same as you want, but no matter, they were priced at $350.00 & change which is a good price for sure , I just do things differently tho'... I'm a Chevy guy myself...
