I've been subscribed to your thread since day 1 and have enjoyed it. I still stand by my statement that if you bury your hood and water fills the cowl there is the possibility of sucking water into the intake.

In the picture below, if you fill that area with water, I'm not sure how it wouldn't go in the tube.

It goes up to the very top in the engine bay though. So don't worry.

I like that. It doesn't interfere with wheel travel?

You will also want to unplug every electrical connection and use some dielectric grease to prevent shorts, including the connections in the driver side kick panel, once you go deeper than your door they are at risk and expect to experience starter and alternator problems in the days following the water crossing

I get the cleanliness and engine protection of putting the intake behind the glove box, but the NOISE is something I can't accept.

I actually like the noise quite a bit. It's really only loud when you get on the gas

Would a deck plate help reduce this? Just close it up before you go into deep water.

That sound isn't really that bad, especially since I drive like a granny most of the time You can definitely hear it at WOT, but I think it sounds pretty cool

So...i know this isn't totally truck related. But still pretty cool.

Since i am in a big city for school away from my rig and unable to build stuff :pout: to satisfy my need to build stuff. I have resulted in this.

Behold, the Paracord Slatts Rescue belt.

I know..whoop tie freakin do right? BUT. this is actually quiet cool. The Slatts belt uses a modified crochet. So all you have to do is grab the tail end after undoing the end knot, and pull. What happens then is the whole belt comes apart in seconds. So, basically in a very short amount of time, id say about 45-30 seconds, you'd have 100' of 550lb paracord at your disposal.

    Pretty handy really.

Here is a vid on the weave if you want to make one yourself. Not too hard at all just take a LONG time. About 6-10 hours. So just sit in front of the tv or turn on some music and go.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGDIm5bcQRM

Ive made the two so far and finishing my third. Will be making more as well. Id sell some too if you don't want to make your own for like 40-50 bucks or something. But considering you can make one for under 20. I think you all can handle it
