So I have my all pro long travel kit on the front. Now I went on a little run to kind of test it out and I hit a bump pretty hard. Hard enough to make me cringe.......when I got home I was inspecting everything and it all looked ok. At least until I noticed on my driver side, which btw I still need to adjust my coilovers for the lean as it leans a bit on the drivers side and I need to lift the front about an inch, that my upper control arm had a scuff mark on it. As im looking at it trying to figure wtf did that I notice that there is a friggin dent in my wheel well from where it slammed. WOW, I didn't think that was going to be possible because that means it cycled right through my bump stops:eek:. And I have the timbrens super bump stops. Nothing is bent out of shape and everything drives fine, I will be taking it in to the alignment shop just to make sure everything is still in spec. Anyways this leads me to my question, does anyone think that my coilovers need to have the pressure checked? They are brand new fox 2.5 coilovers, but I just don't understand how they bottomed out like that. Or do you think raising it will fix that issue? I will post pictures here in a couple minutes since I'm at work, I gotta go take a couple pics.

    Here is the UCA scuff

Here is the spot where the UCA hit

Here is my bumpstop so you can see the one I have

and here you can see where the tire rubbed along the top of the wheel well

hmmm, didn't know I would have needed a spacer for my bump stop. I am also going to post this question along with a link to this thread in the long travel section to see if anyone floating around that part would have any insight to this as well.

Well. It looks like it's time to upgrade to an air bump.

same thing but much worse happened to me with my Camburg kit with Camburg spindles and Fox shocks.....HUGE hole in my inner fender well jacking a bunch of stuff up.

You need to properly cycle your system and add washers or the Total Chaos bump stop extension (depends on how much lower you need to go).

The images do look like your axle is pretty flat, I agree you need to adjust you coils a bit more and will help a bit with UCA slap, however, most of that is a valving issue. you could shim the bump down a bit more to see if you limit the contact.

My reply pertained to down travel....not up travel.
Hope you figure it all out.

    thats normal dude.
most trucks that have LT will do that.
mine is way worse than that on both sides.
if it bothers you, hit it with a hammer so your upper arm doesnt hit it anymore.

or if you want you can put a spacer between the bump stop. personally i wouldnt do that because i love the up travel. you want as much as possible.

the "pressure" in your coilovers have nothing to do with why you bottomed out. it actually has to do with valving. valving is what slows the oil inside the shock when it is peforming.
you can go into the long travel bs thread and find out more about valving.

hard hits are common and its why we have long travel.

gusset your spindles, and cam tabs, shock tower/uca bolt, and box your frame in the rear and you should be good to go :)

Is your brake line running between the coils on the spring?

OP - I would change out those timbrens to our SuperBumps, and also install a couple of the 3/8" spacers to help limit the up-travel a bit, so you don't hit the fender well.
