If I were to try this on my own, do you know the size for the wrench?

I bought the ones from ToyTec when I bought my setup, so I don't think it will be that easy. I have also been reading on bjmoose's thread (sticky) for awhile.

I did all the work for the OME lifts on both my tacomas, but that is a different wrenching to me. I have bleed brakes before on several vehicles but never replaced any.

Went through headstrong and ordered the kit today. $1697 shipped to my door....885s and LR uca's. Have them building the front strut with longer stud, gonna put them on first to see if I need a top plate space to level it out. Nice company to deal with, thanks for the recommendation guys

you will def need a top plate spacer to level out. I went with the 1/4" top plate and I still have a slight rake of about 3/4" in the back. I believe the 1/2" would have leveled it but after looking at it and seeing it with my old tires in the bed it leveled out so with any weight in the bed it won't be noise high (broed out) I am going to just keep it as is cause it looks good with a slight rake IMO and I was actually going with the leveled appearance to begin with. (see above and the previous page for some pics I posted)

Yeah, I'm sold, just ordered the 1/4" spacer, was thinking once I get that strut on, I'm not going to want to take it back off.

exactly and as soon as we finally got done putting my lift on Saturday night I noticed the slight rake and was like...hmmmm F taking that crap apart again. But honestly it looks good and I think you will like it too.

One word of advice if you are installing yourself. Try and find some thread that lists all the tools you need cause lord we started the install at 11am and were finally finished at 11:38pm! because we had to run to the dealership twice (not needed if you decide to bend the fenders to take the UCA bolts out, I did not think about this) and we had to run to harbor freight 3 times for various sized sockets that were larger than I had in my tool set (19mm and 32 or 33mm can't remember for the LR UCA bolt to tighten to 150lbs)

wear some gloves, you will thank me later, I couldn't imagine doing that without them. I have never worn gloves before working on my truck but they were the bomb.

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna try and tackle the install myself, and have been looking for a good install thread....which I haven't found just yet. I did find videos to install without a spring compressor, but my struts are going to be pre assembled.

Ive also emailed a local shop to see if it's worth doing it myself, since I still need to pay for alignment and tire mount and balance for my new rims with duratracs.

I do want the satisfaction of putting this kit on myself though, I'm just afraid that my 06 with 195,000 miles will fight me with every bolt....

yeah with my 2012 with only 26k miles we had a few tough bolts and one that got stripped completely that I am waiting on another member to send me a part. It is a great feeling to install yourself and really isn't that hard just time consuming. If you are having the springs already mounted you might as well do the lift yourself cause that would be the main reason I was going to pay someone. I highly recommend having another set of hands especially with the rear Dakars cause those things are heavy and trying to line up the holes gets difficult even with 2 people. I couldn't imagine doing the rear by myself. I got quoted $300 for an install which I think was really low since it included alignment too but I wanted to know how my suspension worked so I could make any repairs later if needed. I printed out tons of material from install threads (must have had 4-5 handouts that were thick) didn't really need to reference them much except for this which was great.

Are you going to extend your brake lines? If so, you could pick some SS up.

You don't need bushings for the sway bar relocations

    Quick question.
Wills 884Xs give me 2'' of lift?
I have a DCLB, and only want 2'' up front. Stock bumper.

There is always a little variance between trucks but it should hit pretty close to 2" +/-

I figured that was the case. I bought them, and am getting them installed next week but read someones post that said only 1''.
It'll look good with my brand new ATMs I got installed today.
