ordered my under glow (12 strips of 1ft). I currently have a sub, amp, 2500 lumen work lights, and a couple other small things, and was wondering if a second battery would be needed? the battery is fairly new, and don't have room under the hood. what is your guys pinions on brand, placement, and if its even needed, thank you. Help greatly wanted.

If your driving habits will keep your existing battery nearly fully charged, you will not need to upgrade your existing alternator (or battery).

what battery are you using under hood now? a good single AGM battery should be plenty - either stock size or a group 31.

Sears Platinum, autozone platinum, odesssy should all be plenty enough juice for a single battery set up.

what are stock alternators putting out on Tacos?

If anything it's the alternator that will need to be upgraded. My 2¢.

Really the only need for a second battery is so that you can run all of your accessories without your truck running, and still be able to start the truck using your main battery.

Otherwise, I'd just upgrade your alternator. If your alternator can't keep up with the power consumption it will kill your battery quicker from cycling so much and shorten the lift of the alternator as well.

Yup. The battery is just storage, the alternator is what fuels your electrical system.
