Are you talking mostly about steel braided lines? Just curious. I know when we were covering the differences in ASEP years back one of the topics was steel braided lines. It was a lot about quality. The higher quality steel braided lines resisted "bulging" when under the high pressure of ABS systems, where rubber would bulge. The problem was that many "rubber" lines would cause problems or erratic behavior of many ABS systems because they would bulge more. The high quality steel braided lines didn't bulge a fraction of what the rubber ones did, so they handled the higher brake pressure better. Just not sure if this was the same thing you have seen or not. I know racing vehicles have a difference in brake performance concerns than a street car.

What I'm really trying to say is that the claim that SS lines won't bulge as much is really overstated and definitely IMO not worth the cost or effort unless you have a secondary reason to replace your brake lines (age, lift causing tight brake lines at droop.)

Rubber lines aren't actually just rubber tubes, they have a very strong reinforced core, and do a fine job not bulging out.

Having clean brake fluid is a way bigger deal for pedal firmness, and most of the increase in pedal response people associate with switching to SS lines is really from changing their fluid out, and has little to do with having steel lines.

... So I'm saying for the purposes of most of this forum, SS lines aren't a great use of a hundred bucks, unless you're compensating for a lift.

The primary reason is to get the rear a little bit longer. The second is so I can have a pimp new color on my lines. I may go ahead and do the fronts so they can all match. I mainly wanted to see if you felt like they were a solid product at a good price and such.

The bulging is what I have always heard, but can't truely validate. I can believe that bleeding and adding new fluid into all your lines helps with a better pedal also.

Well if you absolutely need fancy white brake lines to match your fancy white shoes, the lines from that group buy were decent, didn't have any issues with them.

I'm not sure I would be running to the ER for treatment for that. Sounds more like a taunt then a burn... or really more like a statement of truth.

I think people are just jealous that I can wear a pair of nice clean white tennis shoes to go play in the mud. If they get a little dirty... I know how to clean them along with my tires.

I will agree to disagree. I know in our class we did an experiment with the two different types of lines and you could see a noticeable difference when under pressure. But again, that is my opinion based on out tests, and again it had a lot to do with quality. The cheaper braided lines bulged just as much as the basic "rubber" ones. The higher quality, more expensive ones showed very little bulge, or pressure variation.

Make sure it is spot/flood mix for Arrowshot. Believe that was the only option anyway.
