For some asinine reason people think that forcing someone not to talk about their convictions isn't discriminatory. A teacher shouldn't be allowed to ask a student to not talk about their religion anymore than they could ask a student not to talk about atheism. Someone will always have a belief that is offensive are contradictory to someone else in the classroom. There is a difference between stating that belief and discriminating against people. It can be a delicate line sometimes, but it has to be taught how to be walked at some point. You are going to spend your life running into people who have different values and world beliefs than you. Its best to learn how to deal with diversity at an early age. Stifling the expression of personnel beliefs toward one direction or another is not how that is done.

Having a classroom environment were someone can't say what their convictions are while allowing the official policy to shove the opposite down their throat is discriminatory. It goes beyond the gay thing, that's just a hot button issue to drum up emotions and retard conversation about the fundamental concept.
