    Yea it just vents off the air instead of returning it to the intake manifold.

    Supercharger, Baja Suspension, TRD exhuast, Stealth pulley.
    They claim performance increases. I just installed mine. I did not notice any power increase. We will see about fuel economy, still have to run the numbers. I do not expect to see much if any at all. I am hoping to have the engine and supercharger last longer. According to the theory it will increase performance and mpg, but the butt dyno will not notice. I do have a co-worker that had his Tacoma detonate every so often. He installed the oil catch can and the truck has not done it again. Only time will tell if it solved the issue.

    It would idle very rough, if a vacuum cap weren't placed onto the driver side upper plenum nipple, and the passenger side intake tube nipple. As there wo uld be a post MAF sensor vacuum leak.

    This is how mine is, as described about. Both valve cover into the can, with an filter on the can. Both intake nipples "capped" or used. I have a very different vacuum hose routing than everyone.

    Performance increases vary, depending on the application. Being that you have a TRD (?) s/c, your PCV system is either sucking, or super sucking. Your performance gains with be the lack of build up on valves, guides, pistons, rings, intake tracts, and intercooler. Continued proper compression and better cooling from the aftercooler. If you have cats, those will last "longer" as well.

    If your vehicle was a factory turbo charged setup, and you made a vent to atmosphere catch can setup, then depending on boost levels, and cylinders, there would be a noticeable gain in power. As the boost pressure wouldn't be pr essurizing the crank case, and working against the back side of the pistons and everything else. Kozmic Motorsports created a bolt-on kit, for Evo's, and they picked up ~30 hp. :thumbsup:

    This is because mine is turbo'd. Unless you know how to route your hoses, so that you don't create vacuum leaks and CEL's, then do not add a filter.

    Gotcha. On some engines the pcv hose connects right after the MAF sensor in the intake tube, or as part of the intake plenum before the throttle body. I was making a general statement, not an engine specific one. Thanks for the clarification and I apologize for any confusion.

    Where did you get it at? My local auto parts stores didn't have the size Dan suggested so I went to autozone and picked up 2 24" sections of 3/8th fuel line. That and some pumice soap for my tool box was less than 10 bucks.

    Performance bonuses may be the lack of oil droplets getting recirculated into the combustion chamber and thus lowering the octane properties possibly?

    That's what I've heard a couple times..... I doubt its anything a butt dyno would notice tho

    My butt dyno did not notice a power increase, and I am running the S/C. The MPG test is still in progress. I do know a guy that installed one on his N/A Taco and it eliminated his detonation issues.

    I would never expect it to be noticed......... if the theory is correct tho, then its a possible gain, but who knows how minute?

    keep the intercooler clean either way.

    ever notice how hard the truck pulls on cold nights?

    I have noticed how the cold will increase my boost/power. Especially if I fill up with the summer gas I save for winter use. I do that because I don't like to see the loss of mpg during winter.

    When it get between 0* and 20*....My AEM hangs at "0" at cruising speeds...even the slightest acceleration and I'm Boostin' and can hit 8psi consistently...During the really hot and humid season I'm lucky to see 6psi at WOT....
