Hahaha that's funny. But very true. AWD is a handicap in racing. Rwd dominates all types of racing for a reason. Name a racing sport besides Rally that the world class cars are AWD.

 

Yeah but my 0-60 in my AWD was insane. Instant hookup street/strip.

 

Ever rode in a properly setup for drag rear wheel drive? Traction is the key to any kinda racing. AWD just gives you an excuse for not setting the car up right.

And autox is a fun "sport". Like poor man's circuit racing. Haha and for exactly what I just said, I would have to agree that a cheap awd car would probably do better then the same rwd.

 

A dude who I work with has a 57 bel air with an lsx set up for drag. That thing scares the shit out of me

 

Driftin was the only fun part about when i lived in japan. I had a JZX90 Mark II, so much fun having a 4 door with a 1JZ-GTE

be when i was doing 30mph and did a 180 off the road and headed straight back towrds a bunch of trees and a telephone pole could be it. good chance i would have come close to totaling the truck if i would have hit the telephone pole, luckily i missed it by less than 2 feet. probably would have bent the rear part of the frame.

B18 block bored .60 over, Eagle rods, Eagle crank, JE 12:1 pistons, Exedy 7 lbs flywheel, Exedy 6 puck unsprung disk and Stage 3 pressure plate, LS trans with lsd, short shifter

Hondata s200 with mapping, launch control, full throttle shift, 2 step. Everything converted from OBDO to OBD1. Battery relocated to the back. Fully gutted interior. Quick disconnect steering wheel. Nuespeed race coilovers, brembo crossdrilled slotted rotors.
