It's not my cup of tea, but I'm all for doing whatever the eff you wanna do. If you like it, who the hell cares!? I've got a Dixie horn on my truck and everyone hates it, but I couldn't give two shits lol.

Bill Watterson doesn't approve what trashy folks have done with his property either; actually, he was quite pissed, and with good reason.

Im not a fan either, even of the ford one but i dont really care as long as its not directed at me.

but if you had a sticker on your car directed specifically toward hating on me you have some other issues lol

ha yeah. I just think it's stupid to take someone's intellectual property that is geared towards children and illegally turning it into a symbol of trashiness

Right on brother. :p. BTW, you're never too old man. :D

The examples below are, IMO, total bullshit but, listen to this crap...and why I say everything sends a message.

In a previous life a guy I worked with was fast tracked from skilled blue collar, to lead, to manager to director (in just a few years)...literally having thousands of employees in his org. Our particular opco had a VP of operations that was "traditional"...and I'm being nice. Rich (we'll call him) was extremely bright and possessed excellent breadth & depth of knowledge of our operation. His rapid rise was not a mistake and was very well deserved. Rich was a typical "Clark Kent" pretty guy. He worked out, was fit, could hold good conversation, seemed squeaky clean and was really very bright. He always wore a long sleeved white shirt. One Monday he showed up to work in a short sleeve button down...exposing his sleeved arms. After our "9 o'clock" (attended by the traditional VP) Rich was summoned to the VPs office where he was promptly demoted to manager. Reason given...he lacked professionalism. It's a bullshit happening with a bullshit reason. Most likely Rich could have sought relief from the demotion through other means but, opted not to.

In a case I was directly involved with, I was conducting a panel interview that included HR, a member of our team, my director and myself (I was an operations manager at the time at a major US based company and was the hiring manager). We had a number of well qualified applicants as well as the usual group promoted by HR. We used a standardized question interview and each of us scored the applicants. After the interview, our individual scores were discussed & were tabulated to determine the overall highest scoring applicant. The applicants also did "job shadowing" and were asked if they were still interested plus we got feedback from the person they job shadowed with. If the applicant was interested after job shadowing & the feed back was good we hired straight off the panel interview score...or were supposed to if the EEOC and other HR requirements were satisfied. My director over ruled the entire interview process based solely on the physical presentation of the highest scoring applicant. The crime? The candidate had a gold stud earring in his left ear. That earring completely wiped out a 4 year degree and years of relevant experience for him in that case.
