Yeah, technically the timing chain is 'good for the life of the vehicle' but i imagine once it gets to 300K miles, that chain will have loosed up some and may benefit from a new one for optimum performance. Although I know there are plenty of 2.7L motors with north of 300K miles that have never had the timing chain touched.

That is beautifully unbelievable! Think how good lower end must look! I'm at 279,00 now. Original clutch also. Works perfectly still! Toyotas ROCK!

107k on my '08 and the water pump is crusty.

I suspected an issue when I found white splatter stains under the hood, but wasn't sure it wasn't something I picked up from the road.

I cleaned up the bottom of the hood, and it remains clean, I've not had to add any coolant to the reservoir, but while in for the spiral cable recall today, the dealer confirmed the water pump was weeping pretty badly.

$520 to replace it. Just ordered a pump, belt, both hoses, and radiator cap from Camelback for $200.

Thanks fellas. Just for comparison, this is what my 99 4.6L SOHC Mustang looked like after 100K miles, also with Mobil 1:
