Come on Jim, it was a gift from my kids:D got it in '96...a '92 fully loaded Ram w/318 and black and silver exterior(my son picked it up at an auto auction). Drove it for 5 years before I got rear ended and it was totaled:eek:...only thing it ever needed was brakes and a tune-up...but like I said, got the Tacoma now and will never go back:thumbsup:

I can relate!! Moved to Las Cruces in 05 and built what was to be my "Last Home" on 5 acres just South of the city. Loved the desert climate. We were, as you pointed out, the minority there. Unfortunately the wife had to drive to El Paso to find a decent mall and was typically approached by workers speaking Espanol. That and Dry Eye Syndrome caused by the 5% humidity caused her to say "I can't live here". So we moved back to the Texas Hill Country where I built my second "Last Home". Miss the dryer climate and hate the humidity here, but such is life. We'll soon be the minority here.:eek::eek:

The P51 is my favorite airplane of all time. Chuck Yeager, the test pilot, had to have gonads the size of a grapefruit. ;)

Calling it quits May 1st. Retirement. One of the 1st things I've gotta do is get the outdrive on my 18'5" Mariah bow rider back together. Had to replace the bellows on it. Had trouble getting the retaining ring into and over the drive bellows. Ran out of time last fall. Not this spring.
Read a post about the P-51's and Chuck Yeager. Read a book about Yeager. I guess he had super human eyesight, could see enemy planes like 50 miles away.

Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back on line- been out running the roads trying to make a buck- Navy retirement ain't enough to pay the bills and keep the wife in new shoes!
Glad to hear there's more Navy guys on here- Airdales and a BB Stacker to boot. Like we used to say "It's all good when it goes boom"

Picked up a pair of Diamond White 20" Led strips this week, going to mount them on the bottom of my Undercover Classic bed cover this weekend- should give me plenty of light. Also ordered a 5800 mah rechargeable battery pack to power the lights- will save a lot of time running power wires and make a cleaner install.

    :woot: Congrats on Retirement Paul.

Read the same thing about Yeager somewhere. I think it might have been a biography I read when I was a kid (real kid -- like jr high kid ;)).

Hope all are doing well. :)

    Morning all:
Reading the posts on Yeager. Wasn't he the guy that flew the experimental rocket plane into sub space, after being dropped from under the wing of a B-52? I would say that grapefruits is underestimated! :p

    Done something stupid! (again)!
"Windows antibreach patrol" came up on the puter. I went to install it and it wouldn't fully install, but I couldn't get it deleated either. I then typed it into the search engine, and found out it's some type of virus. SO;clicked onto a website called "botcrawl", and it had instructions on how to remove it using the free Malware Bytes. Took an hour to do a full scan, but it worked.
Now you have to understand, for someone that's as dumb as I am on this contraption, that was a major accomplishment! :D

And then the blower motor for the coal stove quit! Removed it and took it to a shop for repair.
Changed oil in the Toy, greased it, and topped off all fluids.
Got to switch tires on the Toyota, get the boats ready, ice fishing gear away, get ready for trout, walleye, shad, turkey.
That time of the yr. :goingcrazy:
OH YEA! Then there's still the bathroom!

Just read that the average wedding bill is $30k, high of $87k in Manhattan, to only $17k in Utah.
I would only hope that the marriage would last more than a year! ;)

I did it once before, but having trouble this time. I don't blame you for having the "pros" do it. They most likely have done it so many times and have the specialty tools to get it done. You would think with all of the modern materials around that they could come up with a better, simpler outdrive. I don't know if I would get another I/O. My Mariah has a 4.3 Mercruiser (Chevy) w/4bbl. Around 195 HP. On plane at around 2,300 RPM.

Been a busy and long last three days. The fish fry at my wife's school sold out, very good thing. We were turning people away. I was home by 07:30, tired and exhausted. Today was painting pews at our church. Tomorrow I am Fu**ing off and doing what I want to do. ;)

Time to take a shower then watch Thor The Dark World as I relax.
