I heard that they are going to redo the main track because of the horrible strip conditions. I don't ever trust main track part of it is used as a parking lot (WTF).
Hopefully with the new owners and management from Daytona, they fix the track.

 

From what we are being told main is being redone, and west is already setup which is what they are wanting to open right away. Main should be done around mid-summer time. I've been talking to the people who are running the track days and they have a lot of good plans.

Plus no speed limits, no noise limits, and its a lot cheaper.

 

I have my bout with main and crappy conditions. I low sided around 70-80 mph at the end following Ted Rich years ago. I can't turn left anymore. Lol.

Let me rephrase. I was "trying to follow" Ted. He was critiquing me first couple of laps, then had me follow his lines. It's no comparison of his entry speed versus mine. It's almost as if he never hit the brakes. Too much speed for my comfort caused my front tire to tuck. Then again mix that in with the poor track conditions on main.

The low side happened at the end of the main drag strip. We both topped out ~165mph and started our entry. He carried crap tons more speed than I could ever imagine. Then again Ted could say that about Josh Herrin or Jason Disalvo on the daytona class. They are nucking futs.

 

And now Dustin learned how to drag his helmet at Arroyo. It's amazing how good people ride. You should see Cbass on the track. I'm hoping he can coach my wife one day.

That does not look like ASR. what track was that?

 

From what the guy who runs excel told me when he showed me that, ASR in NM. I've never been to that track so I'm not sure. Either way it's insane.

 

Yes it is. I've rode ASR on 2 wheels twice and was confused. ASR doesnt really have any banks or elevation changes. Curious.

Im excited to see this season how he does in Daytona 200.
