Went over to palmetto state today, picked up one of there blemished lowers, and a complete magpul lower build kit. Had a few parts fly across the room. But nothing to difficult otherwise. 5uvapata_56208649932ccbcc28fddd58a83ea2a09e280ad9.jpg

I did have an issue with my screw that came with the magpul trigger guard only got a few turns out of it before it stripped. Did a little reading and apparently it's a common thing. udubyze2_4808be88dfabb88335d66719fb8e82dfbb2a9885.jpg

I replace all mine with small button head screws. Option two is get a lower with an integrated trigger guard. Speaking of, here's a few things I ordered:

    Sig P226 (9mm) MK25 Navy in FDE

I also finally found non-Chainsaw Noveske Gen2 lowers and ordered up five of them. These things are rarer than unicorn farts.

I always run a tap through it.

I also run a tap through the hole for the rear takedown pin retention spring, snip 3 or 4 turns off of the spring, and secure the spring with a 2-56 grub screw (pirated from a model airplane wheel collar).
No worries about the spring flying off if I change the buffer tube, and I can completely pre-build the lower before even ordering the buffer/buttstock.
Only thing that can't be installed is the buffer stop pin.

PTAC 7.5" Melonite 1/9 YHM Mini Upper for $299. I have two 80% lowers so might as well build a pistol.

Next up is converting my AK into a pistol since I built it from a receiver flat. Plan is to throw a bonesteel flip to side buffer tube stock on it and throw a sigtac brace on that too so I'll have a AK folder pistol with arm brace and around 9" barrel.

Surefire M300B. I bought the sight and sight base months ago and felt so guilty I couldn't swallow paying $250 for a damn flashlight to mount on it. This is what happens when you get bored, folks. That sight/base/light/switch combo cost $550. WTF was I thinking???

Hopefully that's my last idiotic purchase for a while.

Sporting clays club starts next week, so I upgraded my shell pouch to a leather one from Protektor, and then I couldn't use a nylon belt with a leather pouch, so I bought a wide leather belt for it. So now I feel like Clint Eastwood every time I put on my gunfighter leather rig that holds shot shells.
