Just got word from my sister that one of my mom's cats just passed away. He had pneumonia and died of a heart attack an hour ago. It tears me up knowing he's gone. Him and his brother used to sleep in my room every night when I still lived at home.

He's the one on the left. ^

After 20 years of life, we had to put our beloved family cat Lucky, down.

She's had declining health for the past 6 months but she was never in any discomfort.

She had heart disease and passed a clot to her hind legs yesterday afternoon and we opted to help ease her suffering.

She lived a grand life and will be missed more than words could ever express.

So please go give your little fuzzball a kiss and give them all the love you can because they deserve it.

This was her falling asleep on my hand before we took her to the vet. She woke the dog up with how loud she was purring.

Sorry for your loss. Know how that feels. Hope this helps.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks guys; it really was the most terrible thing I've ever had to do because she was still her old, sweet, senile self.

She even tried to play with the dog a little bit.

Despite being <10lbs, she was the owner of the house and it feels so empty without her.

The dog hasn't been himself either...

I don't think this will be a quick recovery but I'm glad to know she's not in pain anymore and the only thing I can do is love her as we always have and think of her often.

Just thought I'd share a few more to prove how much she owned the house, the dog, and all the occupants
