I can't stand patching drywall, and it always turns out like shit when I do it.

    Clearly you need more practice.
Looking for any volunteers this weekend, Pugga?

haha, i do need more practice. I am re-doing the patches I put to run wiring for a chandelier in what we use as a dining room when I paint the giblets room. They are pretty shitty looking.

Me too. I know how to do it but I do not have the right touch to make it look good.

I'd be happy to have volunteers but would prefer they have a better touch for patching that the butcher job I'm going to do! I don't want everyone 'practicing' on my kitchen :D

I'm going to try a new method someone told me about and see how it works. Basically, put the mud on and light wet sand it shortly after you apply the mud. For patching, it's supposed to work well. I'll let you know how it turns out... If it looks bad when I'm done, I'll just drink beer til it looks good.

$200 is a damn good deal. Not sure I would PC coils though, it's just going to get sandblasted offby all the salt and sand on the roads. Seems like a waste IMO

Well I had to do the rear set of springs anyway due to the original paint chipping off. Why get black when you can get crazy colors? So now they have to match! And for brand new $165 springs that I paid $20 for, an extra few bucks for PC ain't bad. His stuff is STURDY!

Yeah I snagged an incredible deal on those UCA's! They are shipping today :)

So what if the paint is chipping off, doesn't effect the springs performance. They will not rust through or break in the lifetime of the truck, that's for damn sure. Or else every old car/ truck driving around would be breaking springs driving down the road.

Shouldn't get sand blasted off. My Eibachs looked fine after 30k+ miles :notsure: Over time the powdercoat will wear away but I don't think it'll be quick if it's a quality powdercoat job.

Weird, mine have are getting worn through the PC. Maybe because with my bumper there is nothing in front of the coils and they are open to whatever.

That's a good point, I forgot you have a tube bumper. I guess that would mean Alex's would be similar since he has a high clearance bumper also.

That's what I was thinking. To each their own, personally I think it's silly to poweder coat something on the underside of a truck that's used for DD, offroad etc..

Did they say to use a sponge? It actually works pretty well but you have to be good, and no dust is awesome. The problem most people have is they try to hard to get everything perfect the first coat. Start with a thin coat and leave the ridges, dont try to get it perfectly smooth, just even light application. Then use your knife to scrape the ridges off when it dries. Do three coats and everytime bring the edge of your mud out 3-4 inches, keep more pressure on your knife on the side away from the joint, keeping your index and middle finger on the back of the knife will help you keep consistent pressure. If you want to do 3 coats in a day pick up some durabond, i like 45 minute, i think it comes in 20,45,60 and 90. It is harder to sand but it is nice to do muliple coats in a few hours.
