So, the more I read these forums, the more I think I am not prepared to do the shocks and AAL. I don't have a second vehicle, so taking them to a shop to assemble them is out.

I don't have new U-bolts or a new center pin (even though wheelers said it works with the stock u-bolts and pin...)

I might give it a try this weekend using this method:

I would advise having a second person to help you get the bumper onto the truck and at least get the nuts started. It's heavy and awkward to hold while bending down to get the six nuts on the frame studs.

    Just a heads up

If you need a hand, I can help tomorrow night or Saturday night. I think I am heading out to GWNF on saturday morning though.

What if I have jack stands to hold it up while I adjust or start nuts? Thanks for the heads up.

It's a little awkward but as long as you have some upper body strength (Use your legs, not your back!) and you can get it to sit on the bolts, you can then just lean into a little bit and start threading nuts with one hand to keep it steady.

I was able to pick up my bumper and do this by myself. (John helped me put it on the first time, but I have had to do this since then)

I am always down to help people. I installed my ARB DELUXE BULL BAR myself with no assistance from anyone. Once the lower frame bracket is on. It is a breeze. Grab the front hoop, centered. and the thing slides right onto the lower frame bracket. From there on, you just adjust the position using the bolts.

On another note. Just installed 2 out of 4 1.25" Spidertracks (do not think I need the set on the rear) and CMC'd (cab mount chopped) just need to get it all welded up. Will work on the 2" off the fenders tomorrow. Then it is off to get the tires mounted.

The wind chill factor was killing me earlier. Ate dinner. Took a 30min rest and went outside to lockup for the night. NO WIND!> Got a 3rd pair of pants on and a 3rd work jacket. spent 2 hours looking for my wheel lock. :homer: - another 15min looking for the grinder handle. No go on the handle so I destroyed some cutting disks.

All and all, was easy. Didnt even remove the tires I had on. Just turned the wheel full chock and did the thing.

Daniel. Might coordinate with you this weekend for the welding. Will see how the weather turns out.

My face is starting to feel the pain from all the sparks hitting it. Not pleasant.

Link to said thread? I can imagine there's a LOT of hammering and cutting needed to do this.

Thanks skygear, I know we need to run your breathers at some point too. I'll bring my long skinny arms to get the trans/ADD breather. I have an extra housing you can use and I also still have some 'T' barbs for joining hoses together if you need them. I just don't have any (or enough) hose left.

Looking at the weather, might have to wait until Sunday to try anything.

Just a FYI, you're not allowed to bring an AR into the state anymore. If you have one and you bring it in your violating the new Maryland gun laws (Senate Bill 623) - felony offense.

I need to run breathers this weekend - anyone want to help? I'll also be installing my auxiliary fuse panel and finishing the wiring for the in-cab switches (air locker, air compressor, and auxiliary lights.

skygear helped do my OMU install and he def knew what he was doing and made it simple.....other than a couple things that were out of our hands. I actually still have a thank you gift for him in my truck....it's been in there for about 4 months now! skygear, I'm moving into the Burke area next weekend and will be closer to your stomping grounds. Def need to meet up again. And if you need a helping hand, I'm there. PICKLE FORK!

There was also a Volstead Act passed a long time ago. We all know how that ended.

All I got to say about that is:

I did all of them, which are you planning on running up?
