So I'd like to put a soft canvas cover over the bed of my access cab. basically a can back, however since they don't make one for the 2nd gen (to my knowledge, which could be wrong) the only other option I've found is the folding soft-topper. This would work however I'd like a solid frame. What do you guys think about building a rigid frame and putting the soft-topper over it? Does anyone make a solid frame soft top?

The first batch he made were shitty. He improved his design but then fell off the face of the earth and shafted a bunch of people on here.

OP - there are plenty of fab guys that do bed racks, but none that I know that do a canvas cover. As soon as mine is done, I'll be looking into fabbing something myself for the canvas cover. The material is relatively cheap, but just a matter of putting it together.

How about a bed rack over a soft topper?

They are readily available and need to be bought separately, but expensive

Call some local canvas shops you can find. Guys that fix convertibles and such. I found one in Portland Or many years ago when I was gonna have a soft top made for my Bronco. Might be able to make the rack and then have a local shop make the cover.

Boat companies can make them too. There's a bunch of shops near me that can do something like that, but I want to try and tackle it myself.

I don't need a rack, what i'm looking for is a solid frame for a soft top. Something fixed and rigid. I just don't like the look of the softtopper with the sides rolled up and you can see all the folding frames.
