    I think I'd prefer this over the current f150 front end. I bet the kit is no different than sticking fiberglass on a taco if you find the right donor car. My buddy put a Chrysler 300c front end on a dodge magnum a while back and it wasn't costly or hard to do either.

    There's actual function behind putting glass on a taco. What's the added function with this hideous truck? At least with glass i wont be cutting my factory fenders to for the 35's.

    I don't think he'd tear up his fenders on 35's and I doubt that it would ever see any kind of offroad action

    Sorry, we don't all have donuts on ours. 35's will add a bigger foot print and added traction to help a 2wd where as smaller/narrower tires will hurt that with a 2wd.

    You're totally right, yes. They way I look at it is he's doing it for looks. It's like running fiberglass to fit 35s, not because you have long travel when it can be done easily on stock fenders and not spending money to get fiberglass. Now, if you're getting 37s different story ;) that's why i say it's all up to how you want your truck to look.

    pretty much every badass tire I see on those newer jeeps are 35X12.5 on 18's tacos have to go through so much crap to fit 35's, i'm rubbing with 32's :anonymous:

    I wonder if the wheel spacers are causing your rubbing, your front are pushed out quite a bit. I have less lift than you & only rub a little with my 285's at full lock when backing out of the driveway.

    What I meant by stock fenders was keeping your stock fenders on and just cutting a few inches to fit 35s. I personally don't have fiberglass cause it's less for me to cry about after I follow a few jeeps into a tight trail and get body damage as a result.

    Well, I mentioned it probably has a better approach angle with the Rustang front clip. I'm not positive about that, but it looks like it would. Also, from a crawling perspective, you'd probably have better visibility over the hood (even with that hood scoop on the truck in the picture) because of how the hood slopes down more which is useful for precise tire placement.

    That said, not everyone puts glass fenders on their Taco for functionality and I wasn't directing that comment as a barb toward you and your future plans, Jason. It was just meant as a general statement. I happen to like the way Dirtymike's truck looks with the glass fenders so I'm sure yours will look similar.

    I just think the truck in the pic looks a lot better than the stock SD grille. Different strokes and all that.

    Nor go through the hassle I've heard glass fenders are to get them to fit good. I'd like to get glass fenders myself just for the bigger wheel-wells, but the things I've heard about getting them to fit well make them sound like a pain in the backside to get right.

    Anyway, I should have said, putting a Rustang front clip on an SD truck is not much different that someone putting a TRD Sport hood and a TRD-OR sticker on their Prerunner which isn't a TRD anything...:D Nothing wrong with it if that's what floats your boat.

    heck, Jim has a good little side-line going modifying Taco grilles and headlights. It's pretty much the same thing just on a different scale.

    Now Lee, no amount of fiberglass will ever substitute a good tubbing. I wish someone on here was good at fab and we could have a tubbing day. If love to cut the firewall and inner wheel well and raise it up, shove some 36" tsl's and go party it up rub free
