2.5' Fabtech Suspension lift. 285/75/16 Cooper STT's New headlights Surefire mount with Quick Fist Shrockworks bumper-3 wks out on delivery Light Force 240 Blitz arriving today
When I first got started on my build, I probably rushed it a bit, and went with Fabtech. Which has actually been good so far. Nice ride. But as I've been reading and learning about mods and all, seems like the 5100's would be the best for what I'm looking for as far as looks and wheeling. Second on my list was OME's for sure. And hell, I might even change my mind again before going through with it. haha As soon as I get my bumper on, I'll move back to suspension.

Yea 5100's seems to be the popular why to go. So is the Fabtech lift a coil spacer lift or a full coil over swap ? I'm looking to mainly level out the factory rake with coil overs that would last until a tire upgrade, then be adjustable enough to increase for bigger rubber. Pretty confusing issue & scary with ride, warranty and possible VSC issues.

It was a full coil over swap. I've enjoyed it so far.

Thanks. I agree. My Toyota is the best vehicle I've ever owned. Bought her brand new when I was 21, she now has 187,000 miles, still runs llike a champ. Never let me down.

I do like my Tahoe for the room though. :D

you can't beat a Yota for reliability. I've had 4X4 K-5 Blazers all my life up until the 4Runner they are roomy. Used to call my '79 the Living Room ;)
If you have VSC (skid control) issues afterwards read this thread, in particular post #92:

The 1st time it kicked in on my 4Runner I was going 15-20mph on loose gravel & hit some stutter bumps. The rear end started coming around and it kicked in. Scared the sh*t out of me & put a 8p pucker on Capt. Redeye !!! Thought I was going in the ditch.
Couldn't imagine it kicking in on a semi normal turn on pavement like some have experienced !

Well the M416 trailer build has come to a quick halt before it really ever got started. Flipped her over onto her back so that I could start stripping it down for bead-blasting. The only thing original is the leaf springs and the tub itself. The entire frame has been replaced (a crappy job to boot) and the axle is not original either. That plus the person who did the frame WELDED the tub to the frame, so I would have to cut the frame off. Not sure at this point if it is worth the hassle. I would still need to find an original frame at the least, and then worry about what damage I would be looking at with cutting the tub off this frame. This really sucks. Basically out the $400 worth on the purchase unless I can sell it.

Alex, they didn't say anything in NC or on base with the 50% tint?

On a side note, I just did my first long highway run with the new gears (4.56:1) and the tires. After calibrating the Ultragauge I ran about 150 total miles. Average MPG was 24.2 as she sits right now. I'm actually quite surprised she was able to get that good!
