Yeah. I've got mine like a foot below it and have like a foot of extra wire that I tuck in the cubby below my cd player.

(The gauges in the pic are the default ones. I've changed them since then)

That slot is where I put the extra wire:

I noticed they have a couple options. Any of you have any insight into which one to get?

two are experimental, the third one being more or less useless to toyota owners as they only have programming information for ford and GM.

like the ad says: if youre technology savvy and dont mind the "experimental" one, then go ahead. its got some cool looking performance data, new warning code display format, and some other changes. "in the unlikely event you experience a problem you will have to deal with support via email"

if you just want plug and play and no bells and whistles being tested out, go for v1.2

There is a distance calibration function. Its very accurate now. When my speedo says I'm going 65mph I'm really going 70mph or a tad under.

I have mine mounted behind the Inspection and Registration stickers, to the right of the A-Pillar. The wire runs down and under the dash, its completely hidden.

From the Scanguage site it only shows it will work for 2005 and newer.

do you input tire size and gear ratio? there is an experimental thats supposed to show 0-60 and 1/4mi times.. but how could it know that unless it was either part gps or you could properly input that information. simply calibrating distance traveled at a constant speed doesnt seem sufficient.

    Its in the downloadable instructions.

U want to get into calibration settings.... Then u drive a few miles and either use GPS or mile markers and u can set the ultragauge to offset what the obd system is telling it by a percentage to make it read actual mileage as shown by ur gps or mile markers

I know it does. But apparently it works on 01-04s, and will show their trans temp with a code that people discovered. Scanguage does not actually have the scanguage code, so they were unsure if it will work on my 99

I had a scangauge and sold it, have an ultragauge now and it's definitely the better choice.
