To people who have purchased homes...have you ever wanted to go speak to the previous owner and ask them what the....they were thinking with certain features?

I have a jelly jar style light at the top of my stairs going down to the cellar and when I moved in there wasn't a bulb in it and it didn't work. I just assumed they removed the wiring and it was a remnant since the whole assembly was painted in the delightful shade of bloody vanilla yogurt they painted the rest of the cellar. On a while I unscrewed it from the wall and found the wiring still had current. Bought a new fixture and rewired it, problem solved.

I wish I was there the day the owners thought to themselves hmm...this light doesn't work, I wonder what's wrong. You know what, forget it, let's just act like the light was never there.

I swear everything electrical in this house they touched needs to be fixed. It's almost terrifying. I just wish when they added a second outlet box to the main one (the kill switch for the oil fired hot water heater and the secondary phone line) they made some attempt to put the switches level. I'm no electrician and I know my limits, but eesh.

Also, is it truly difficult to remove the plate covers when you paint walls?

    /rant.

Yep, I know exactly how you feel! The sad part is, most of the work that was done to my house was done by the contractor the previous owner hired. The previous owner was old, blind and lived alone. I wish I knew who the contractors were because they are clearly despicable human beings. The stuff I found, it's a wonder the house didn't catch fire.
So far so good. I didn't get mud on it though, I had a bunch of other stuff to do this weekend that I had forgotten about (like swapping over Kendra's winter wheels/tires for example). Plus, it took me 45 minutes to get the drywall out. I buried all my drywall, silly me thinking I wouldn't need it for a while.

Super difficult. Those plates are held on with screws, and it's hard to run a screwdriver when you're a moron.

Got a weird mental picture of you out in the yard with a pick and shovel, burying sheets of drywall and buckets of mud and tape in the back yard while your wife looks on and debates between calling her parents and calling the mental hospital...

Haha, nothing that crazy. I put all the drywall in the back, then topped it with plywood and all my rough lumber and proceeded to put just about everything spring/summer related in front of the stack. It looked like a yard sale in my driveway for a little while as I dragged everything out of the garage.

I saw you drag them in NH when I was stock height. Then it was my turn, I could not believe that truck did that. It amazes me. Sadly I sold it today, I really didn't want too sell it.
You have pizza cutters don't you? If so thats why you are getting good mileage. I bought Hankook Dynapro what ever (the ones everyone gets here) today for the jeep and im getting better mileage.....13:rolleyes:

that dude told me how to patch a wall and saved me my security deposit

When my father-in-law paints he paints everything. The outlets and switches as well as the covers. He also paints the mouldings the same color, it drives me crazy

On a separate topic, I have been shaving with the new razor for alittle over a week now and I love it. I would shave twice a week with the modern razor cause if I shaved any more my face would look like hamburg. My neck and under my nose was the worst. Well now I am shaving every other day and next week I will try daily. I would get two shaves (1week) out of a two dollar cartridge. The new blades were 100 for 16 bucks and I am still on my first blade, 6 shaves for 16 cents.
