Received my winch mount last night. Have been so busy with work that I haven't been able to orchestrate installation!

The mount looks great; no damage from shipping, and a great job by U.S. Off-Road. Too bad I'm behind the eight ball--would love to post pics right away, but I'm thinking it'll be a couple weeks off.

Can't wait to get it on 'ah!

I just had rough luck with shipping, really don't expect anyone else to have problems.

Everything going to Toyota dealership tomorrow to get installed. I have finals, but found a guy willing to do the full install with in-cab switches ('on own time"). I have everything bolted and wired that i can without actually bolting it to the truck… all planned out and have been over it multiple times, should be clean job. Pics will hopefully be up by the end of next week. Plan to get her dirty for the first time… def stuck… on purpose…

I'm a bit late to the party but I've been away skiing and my bumper also arrived over a week ago....might I add it's still been too G.D. cold in the Northeast to want to work with a big chunk of metal in my garage/driveway :)

I partially unwrapped the bumper to glance the other day and thought I noticed a corner flange had the slightest bend. (Not as much as the one in Chaz's picture) but after further inspection a few minutes ago it's apparent it was dropped...but it's bent inward and shouldn't be visible. I believe I can also straighten the corner if need be.

I'm simply blown away by the amount of abuse UPS has laid on these things. After 2+ years of shipping FJ mounts with zero issues this is a real turn of events. I'm placing a call to UPS in the AM as this is starting to smell like someone is doing this on purpose. I don't believe in coincidences.

Email me a pic to usoffroad @ gmail . com.

I've also setup an account with FedEx and going to give them a whirl as this is completely unacceptable.

Sorry to hear about that ding Halftonn, just take a large crescent to it... Should come right out. 12" should do it, get a pipe on it if you have to haha

Update: Just finished 3 weeks of testing that was more difficult than I ever thought possible, half dead... But everything has been in the process of being installed for the last 2 days after hours at the Toyota dealership by my university. Will try to post pics of install later, but suppose to head up there in a couple of hours to help knock it out.

Notes: the mount actually lined up with the factory holes seemingly better than the aluminum bumper. Only issues thus far is that the bottom flanges on the mount needed to be bent into place and their holes needed to be "extended" about 3/8." Also, the skid plate hanger hooks had to be removed. Not a big deal, it still bolts up perfectly. The mount was cut precisely and leaves the perfect amount of room for the skid plate to fit, just doesn't have hooks on which to swing when unbolted. Lastly, my passenger side angled tow hook can't be utilized as expected, but I wonder if they altered this in '09... Neither here nor there, who needs a factory tow hook with .75" D rings??

All the guys at the dealership have been freaking out about the mount and are impressed all around with the build quality! Making initial cuts in plastic bumper tonight and getting the other coil pack back in... Hopefully get the in-cab harness wired as well. Doubt we'll finish tonight, but fingers crossed... Guess I need to be in truck while he aligns it anyway, so might as well be productive with some wiring while I'm in there! Haha

Shoot me pics of the skid plate hooks. I'm surprised any cutting had to be done for the bottom mounts, we had quite a bit of adjustment built in...but maybe not. Your truck hasn't ever been hit up front has it? Could be a result of UPS abuse too.. on the lower mount tabs. Also a pic of your factory recovery point... I'm about half a mind to just ditch the openings and say 'cut off the factory recovery hoop'... we discussed that at one point here.

    Dying to see the pics.
