Don't need anyone to low ball me so don't try. Everything is in great shape, and if they don't sell then they will be put on the new truck when I get it, but with stock parts adding up im running out of storage at the moment

Quick Update some things from the List are gone.

It wouldn't be permanent, but my bed is getting abused without a bedliner.

I ran a mat in my first gen. You put that plastic liner in your truck in Mississippi you won't have a bed (rust). Not to mention you have tie down everything or it's a slide hammer against your cab and tailgate

I might get a mat, or i might try a DIY bedliner.

If you get a mat spend the money and get the tailgate piece. I used harbor freight rattle can on the bedsides then put the mat down. The bed takes most of the abuse, worked well for me.

Heading out to El Centro tomorrow for some Eurasian doves and hopefully find a turkey on the way back. Really want to go out to Plaster but I don't think it would be a good idea with 5 shotguns and 3 guys in an AC.

So if my cousin wants to convert his 2005 pre runner to 4x4 what all would we need?

    Front diff
    CV's
    4x4 computer
    front driveshaft
    rear driveshaft
    transfer case (stock or FJ)
    4x4 switch with wiring harness
    4x4 spindles
    add a crossmember
And either a 4x4 trans or change the output shaft on the trans right?

Haha, incorrect grasshopper.. unless you mean from your pre-sag condition....(& then only if you measured before all this )

Waaay too much work IMO unless you already had the parts or had an inside line on some for cheap, better to trade in & trade up unless its already hacked ...

It's measuring 3.5'' higher than it did the day before i swapped the leafs.

Yeah, it is a lot of work, and it won't be cheap.
But he uses the truck like he's never gonna sell it, so it's scratched pretty bad, and it's lost a good bit of it's value since he bought it a year ago (he put 40K miles on it in a year).
He loves his truck but wants 4x4 for when he goes duck hunting, so he looked at getting a FJ, but they're so expensive.

He does have enough of a budget where he could buy a older 4runner that's 4x4, but i think he wants the 4.0 engine (he looked at the tundras, but in his opinion they're ugly, and i don't think they get as good highway MPG as the tacoma)

Prerunner spindles are fine, you will need 4x4 hubs.

Budget around 5k to 8k if you are doing the work yourself depending on the deals you get on parts.
